Armenia First Rehearsal

ChrisB on Mon, 05/01/2017 - 13:19

Armenia have hired Sacha Jean Baptiste again for their staging, like last year. And there are quite a few elements reminding me of Iveta from last year, the quick camera cuts at the start and the overall message of female empowerment.
The choreography will certainly look even better once they are wearing the real dresses. It fits the song and keeps the focus of attention on Artsvik. Very solid and polished performance for a 1st rehearsal.

Armenia First Rehearsal

Iveta gets to go up and she's actually the first performer today to have a technically more challenged performance.

Dressed in a short black leotard with a veil attached on both arms, the singer's seductively singing her song alone on stage, which is smouldered in white smoke.

The atmosphere is pretty dark, but there's plenty visuals too with pyrotechnics added in the performance.

Iveta, sounds fantastic too, and I do think she has an usual presentation ready, which Europe is going to like. In the betting this seems to be overlooked a little. The added pyro's had us all in awe.

Well done Iveta.

Dorians Armenia 1st rehearsal

Very casual outfits for Dorians members, all different, mostly jeans/t-shirts in white/light blue colours. Absolutely no movements and nothing is happening on the stage. I'm awaiting for Albania to compare.
Last run is with pyros. A lot of white smoke on the stage in the beginning. Huge amount of pyros towards the end of the song. Looking much better now.

Compass Band from Armenia 1st rehearsal

Performance looks pretty nice on screens, very nice back drops, excellent parts of guitar solo. I don´t really like the lead singer always shaking in the style of The Beatles, but may be it will help this song to be remembered even better. It isn´t really considered favourite on all accounts, but we know Armenia is always doing great in JESC televoting, so this shouldn´t be underestimated.
