Twins Mylene and Rosanne Waalewijn were born on February 12, 2000 and live in town of Badhoevedorp.

Earlier they have appeared in the show Kinderen voor Kinderen of VARA in 2009 and 2010. Rosanne began practicing gymnastics in 2009 and was even Dutch champion, she had starred in musical Dik Trom. Mylene was taking ballet lessons and played in musicals Shrek and Joseph. Together as twin fairies they have appeared in musical Droomvlucht. They also took part as guests in show of band K3 playing young version of singer Josje. Now they are studying in a special art class of Gerrit van der Veen college and practice dancing at Lucia Marthas studio.

Rosanne confesses: "I am very sloppy and Mylene is very neat. But I'm going to improve it! Also I'm athletic and have more muscles". Mylene adds: "And I'm left-handed and Rosanne is right-handed." Even their favourite colours are different. Mylene says: "I'm more of blue and green, turquoise is my favorite color." Rosanne is more for red and rose. "Fuchsia, I find it absolutely beautiful!." Being twins isn't always fun: "Sometimes it is annoying that people can't differentiate us, and always ask who is who", they admit.

However, hobbies of sisters are almost the same: "We really like singing, dancing and acting", say sisters. "We also like playing tennis and table tennis, football, playing outside, drawing. On Saturday mornings we dance and have singing lessons. Sometimes we rehearse as we take part in a musical. And if there is nothing on schedule, we spend time with friends, do homework, relax at home or play outside. Sometimes we have parties or play tennis".

Twins like to perform together, so they decided to take part in the national final of Junior Eurovision Song Contest - Junior Songfestival. The girls immediately decided they wanted to write a song about how it is to be twin sisters, and they did it with help of their parents Ruud and Myriam. "Double Me" tells the story of twins who look almost the same when they look in the mirror, but if you look more closely, you can find how different they are! This song was created specifically for the fans of the Eurovision and with it Mylene and Rosanne want to prove everyone that each person is unique, no matter where he is from.

Upbeat and cheerful performance of girls was created with producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis (2005, 2009, 2010, 2012) and choreographers and dancers from the Institute of Performing Arts Lucia Marthas.

Now sisters will have a lot of rehearsals for the international final of the show. But during AVRO Junior Songfestival they have already developed a lot, including being psychologically prepared to stand in spotlight.

Близняшки Милен и Росанн Ваалевейн родились 12го февраля 2000 года и живут в городе Бадхуфедорп.

Ранее они принимали участие в программе Kinderen voor Kinderen телеканала VARA в 2009 и 2010 году. Росанн начала заниматься гимнастикой в 2009 году и даже была чемпионом Нидерландов, а также она принимала участие в мюзикле Dik Trop. Милен брала уроки балета и играла в мюзиклах Shrek и Joseph. Вместе они выступили в мюзикле Droomvlucht. Также они принимали участие в шоу группы K3 исполняя маленькую версию солистки Зосье. Сейчас они занимаются в специальном художественном классе колледжа им. Геррита ван дер Вена и в танцевальной студии Люсии Мартас.

Росанн сообщает: "Я очень неряшливая, а Милен очень аккуратная. Но я постараюсь исправиться! А еще я более атлетичная и у меня больше мускул". Милен добавляет: "А я левша, а Росанн правша". Даже их любимые цвета различаются. Милен говорит: "Мне больше нравится голубой и зеленый, мой любимый цвет бирюзовый". Росанн больше нравятся красный и розовый. "А особенно красивым я нахожу пурпурный цвет фуксии!". Но быть близнецами не всегда весело: "Иногда нас очень раздражает, что люди не могут нас различать и всегда спрашивают кто есть кто", признают сестры.

Однако, хобби у сестер практически одинаковые. "Мы любим петь, танцевать и играть на сцене", рассказывают они. "Мы также играем в теннис и настольный теннис, футбол, играем на улице, рисуем. По субботам мы ходим на уроки танцев и вокала. Иногда мы репетируем наши роли в мюзиклах. А если ничего нет в расписании, мы проводим время с друзьями, делаем домашнюю работу, отдыхаем дома или играем на улице. Иногда мы проводим вечеринки или играем в теннис".

Сестрам нравится выступать вместе, поэтому они решили принять участие в национальном отборе Детского песенного конкурса "Евровидение". Девочки сразу же решили, что хотят написать песню о том, как быть сестрами близнецами, что они и сделали при помощи своих родителей Рууда и Мириам. "Double Me" рассказывает историю близнецов, которые выглядят почти одинаково, когда смотрят в зеркало, но если присмотреться тщательнее, видно, насколько они разные! Эта песня создана специально для фанатов "Евровидения", и с ее помощью Милен и Росанн хотят доказать всем, что каждый человек уникален, независимо от того, откуда он родом.

Жизнерадостное и веселое выступление девочек было создано вместе с продюсером Тьеердом Оостеруисом (2005, 2009, 2010, 2012) и хореографами и танцорами из Института исполнительных искусств Люсии Мартас.

Теперь сестрам предстоят множество репетиций перед международным финалом. Но во время AVRO Junior Songfestival они уже многому научились, в том числе получили психологический тренинг о том, как находиться в центре всеобщего внимания.

- Hi, Mylene & Rosanne, and first of all our congratulations for winning Dutch Junior Songfestival! Can you introduce yourself in one sentence?
- We are happy 13 year old Twin sisters from The Netherlands!

- Tell us, what will be the easiest way to differentiate you two, when you do not have names written on your outfits?
- Rosanne is a little bit taller than Mylene. Mylene is left handed and Rosanne is right handed.

- Whether there is more difficulty or fun in being twin sisters? If you argue, who usually wins?
- It is really fun to be twin sisters. And IF we argue, sometimes Mylene wins... and sometimes Rosanne.

- Can you tell us more about your song creation, how has the idea appeared, and who has helped you to write it?
- We have written the song about ourselves. We are mirrored. Mylene is left handed and Rosanne right handed. And sometimes people can’t see the difference and we use that. And Rosannes room is more disorganized than Mylenes room. We’ve got help from our parents and a friend. Famous dutch producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis, who also coproduced the winning Junior Eurovision Song Contest song from Ralf Mackenbach ‘Click Clack’, also helped with the music.

- What is the most difficult thing for you in the stage performance?
- To do all the different things together at the same time, like singing, dancing, acting and smiling.

- Whether a stage presentation at international JESC will be similar to the one you had in Junior Songfestival or there will be some changes brought for international audience?
- We will keep that as a surprise…. :)

- What about your costumes, do you plan to keep them?
- We will keep that as a surprise as well…. :)

- Can you introduce the dancers who accompany you?
- The names of the dancers are Lola, Elsa, Luna and Priscilla, really great girls! They are from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts.

- What is your plan of preparations for the contest? Do you have to travel often for the rehearsals?
- No, we don’t have to travel a lot for rehearsal because we live near by the dance studio, where we practice our song.

- Who are your vocal coach and choreographer of your entry?

- Has participation in the show already changed your life? Are you usually recognized on streets?
- Yes, since the show, we are recognized all the time, but in a fun way so we still like it :)
Very special is that this year the AVRO Junior Songfestival collaborated with Cordaid Kinderstem, a charity organization. All the call and sms revenue went to them. At the beginning of November, we travel to Uganda, to see where the money is used for and meet the kids over there.

- Are you interested to find who will represent other countries in competition; will you listen to the other competing entries?
- Sure, we already listened to the songs of the other countries and they are all great.

- And what is your aim for the contest? Are you going to win it, or simply have good time and make new friends?
- We definitely want to have a good time and make new friend and if we win, we will be excited of course :)

- Have you heard a Russian winning entry of JESC 2006 also sung by twins? Do you like it, and do you think you can reach for the top place in Kyiv and repeat success of Ralf there?
- Yes, we heard just recently that twins participated in the JESC. We don’t know if we can reach the top place. What Ralf has done in 2009 in Kyiv was absolutely great and we can only dream about that.

- Can you tell us, how your basic day looks? What activities do you usually have?
- We go to school from Monday to Friday from 8:30 – 17:15. We go by bike, (30 minutes drive) and our school is in Amsterdam. We are in a special school where we combine regular school education with dancing class. In the weekends we have homework and hang out with friends or rehearse.

- Is it difficult to combine contest preparation with studies in school?
- No, it is not difficult because it is our hobby.

- Do you like studying? What are your favorite subjects?
- Yes, we like studying. Mylenes favorite subject is French and Rosanne likes Math.

- What are your plans after contest? Do you plan to continue as duet, or do you plan to launch solo careers?
- We would like to continue as a duo but we also will do things apart from each other, like we did before the contest.

- Yes, we really are looking forward to come to Kyiv.

- Мы написали песню про самих себя. Мы как отражение друг друга в зеркале. Даже судя по тому, что Милен левша, а Росанн правша. Иногда люди не могут нас различать, и мы пользуемся этим. В комнате Росанн всегда больше беспорядка, чем у Милен. Нам помогли наши родители и наш друг. Также нам помог с музыкой знаменитый голландский продюсер Тьерд Оостреруис, который уже работал над песней, выигравшей Детское Евровидение - "Click Clack" Ральфа Макенбаха.

- Что сложнее всего для вас в сценическом выступлении?
- Делать все вместе одновременно - петь, танцевать, играть и улыбаться.

- Будет ли номер на международном Детском Евровидении похож на тот, что мы видели на Junior Songfestival или в нем будут изменения, внесенные для международной аудитории?
- Пока мы оставим это сюрпризом.... :)

- А изменятся ли ваши костюмы?
- И это мы пока тоже не можем сказать.... :)

- Можете ли вы представить танцоров, которые принимают участие в вашем номере?
- Да, их имена Лола, Эльза, Луна и Присцилла, и они отличные девчонки! Они все из Академии Искусств Люсии Мартас.

- Каков ваш план подготовки к конкурсу? Вам далеко приходится ездить на репетиции?
- Нет, не далеко, потому что мы живем неподалеку от танцевальной студии, где мы занимаемся подготовкой.

- Кто ваши педагог по вокалу и хореограф?

В этом году AVRO Junior Songfestival сотрудничал с благотворительной организацией Cordaid Kinderstem, вся прибыль от звонков и СМС отправлялась в нее. В начале ноября мы поедем в Уганду, чтобы посмотреть как будут использоваться эти деньги, и встретиться с детьми из этой страны.

- Интересуетесь ли вы другими участниками национального отбора, слушаете ли песни, выбранные другими странами?
- Конечно, мы уже послушали все выбранные песни других стран и они все отличные.

- Какова ваша цель на конкурсе? Вы едете, чтобы побеждать, или просто хорошо провести время и завести новых друзей?
- Конечно, мы хотим получить удовольствие и найти новых друзей, но если мы одержим победу, то это нас тоже очень обрадует :)

- Слышали ли вы песню России, победившую на Детском Евровидении 2006 года, которую также пели близняшки? Нравится ли она вам, и думаете ли вы что сможете повторить успеха Ральфа в Киеве и также добиться первого места?
- Да, только недавно мы узнали, что близнецы уже принимали участие в Детском Евровидении. Мы не знаем, можем ли мы занять первое место. То, чего добился Ральф в 2009 году в Киеве было абсолютно потрясающим, и мы можем только мечтать об этом.

- Расскажите нам, как выглядит ваш обычный день, чем вы занимаетесь?
- С понедельника по пятницу с 8.30 до 17.15 мы обычно занимаемся в школе. Мы ездим на велосипедах (это 30 минут езды), потому что наша школа находится в Амстердаме. Мы учимся в особенной школе, где совмещаем обычные уроки с танцевальными классами. В выходные мы делаем домашние задания или проводим время с друзьями, или репетируем.

- Сложно ли совмещать подготовку к конкурсу с учебой в школе?
- Нет, это не сложно, потому что пение - это наше хобби.

- Вообще вам нравится учиться? Какие ваши любимые школьные предметы?
- Да, нам это очень нравится, Милен больше всего любит французский язык, а Росанн - математику.

- Каковы ваши планы после конкурса? Вы хотите продолжать выступать дуэтом, или планируете начать сольные карьеры?
- Мы бы хотели продолжать выступать дуэтом, но иногда у нас бывают и отдельные друг от друга проекты, как и до конкурса.

20/11 Twins from Badhoevedorp Mylene and Rosanne have traveled on 2 November, along with national final juror Tim Douwsma and their parents Ruud and Myriam Waalewijn, to Uganda. The winners of the AVRO Junior Songfestival went to see with their own eyes how the revenue from calls and SMS of the live shows that went to 'Cordaid Kinderstem' was well spent.

"Basically, anything we have seen was impressive and special," says Rosanne. She went to visit Jackeline, a 13 year old girl with an HIV-infected mother. She keeps house and helps with education of her younger siblings. "With the help of Cordaid Kinderstem she goes back to school. She got a school uniform, pens, notebooks", says Mylene. But not only the children got help, the mother also. "And they got beans and rice seeds to grow. Half of the crop is intended for school, so the children have something good to eat", explains father Ruud. "With Jacklyn we went for water. At the water source she rubbed her feet with sand and then rinse it in the source". Rosanne adds: "We did that too. But it is very crazy if you think that they drink this water".

Another visit was to the 11-year-old Steven and his 9-year-old sister Brenda. "Steven wants to become auto mechanic and Brenda - teacher. We had given them notebooks, pens and toys, and they were very happy". Around lunchtime they shared their lunch brought from the hotel with the children. "I really felt a lump in my throat when a little boy of about four ate his banana. Even the shell he licked all the way out until you could see".

Rush through morning gymnastics at the school was tough for the twins. "We were out of breath, but not the children". There were also television recordings made during the trip and the video for the song "We are the future" included". On a large field was a stage built, four schools and 2,000 children were present. We have performed and then went the children performing for us. But they stomped so hard on the rickety stage that it has gone on the ground". Yesterday twins have visited Ukrainian embassy in The Netherlands and on 24 November the girls, along with their parents, are traveling to Kiev to take part in the international final of Junior Eurovision with their song Double Me. "I do not expect we're going to win, 'says Rosanne. "We're going for it, but I do not know either," adds Mylene. The final will be broadcasted live on November 30th at 19:00 on Nederland 3.

Еще один визит прошел к 11-летнему Стивену и его 9-летней сестре Бренде. "Стивен хочет стать автомехаником, а Бренда - учительницей. Мы подарили им тетрадки, ручки и игрушки, и они были очень рады". В обед сестры поделились своим ленчем, принесенным из отеля с детьми. "У меня встал комок в горле, когда я увидела, как мальчик лет 4х ел свой банан. Он облизал даже всю шкурку, пока ее можно было видеть".

Занятия утренней гимнастикой в школе стали тяжелыми для близняшек. "Мы запыхались, а местные дети совсем нет". Во время путешествия проходила телевизионная съемка и съемка видеоклипа на песню "We Are The Futuree". На большом поле была построена сцена, где присутствовали около 2000 детей из 4х школ. Мы выступили перед ними, и затем дети стали выступать для нас. Но они так сильно топали по хрупкой сцене, что она развалилась". Вчера близняшки посетили посольство Украины в Нидерландах, а 24 ноября девочки вместе со своими родителями отправляются в Киев для участия в международном финале Детского Евровидения со своей песней Double Me. 19/11 Presenter Kim-Lian van der Meij is leaving Dutch broadcaster AVRO, where in past two years she presented several youth programs as AVRO Junior Dance and the international final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012. She also presented adult programs like the AVRO Musical Sing-a-Long, Strictly Come Dancing and the Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala 2013. Starting next year, Kim-Lian will become one of the regular faces of SBS 6. Until then, she can still be seen as a presenter of youth talk show on AVRO Love4ever, the charity event Stand up against Cancer and AVROTROS production Wij Zijn De Beste! "I am extremely grateful for the beautiful and diverse programs that I have presented on AVRO. This allowed me to grow as a presenter. I look back on the past two years as an extraordinary period in which I have the privilege of working with great colleagues".

In June it was announced that presenter Ewout Genemans, who hosted along with Kim-Lian Junior Eurovision 2012 will also stop working with AVRO and thus present Dutch Junior Songfestival after this season. From January he will proceed with his own television business. "I worked with a lot of fun at the AVRO and look back with fine feelings on the past years and the opportunities given to me. The AVRO Junior Songfestival 2013 is a fantastic end to my collaboration with the AVRO. I look forward to additional presenting this season and the new period that will come after that for me". Ewout will host two Junior Eurovision related programs from Kyiv.

The AVRO Junior Songfestival this year working together with Cordaid Kinderstem. All calls and SMS revenue from live shows have gone to this charity. Mylene & Rosanne and Tim Douwsma flew to Uganda to see how Cordaid Kinderstem helps children in developing countries.

After winning the national final of the AVRO Junior Songfestival, the twins didn't sat still for a moment. In 'Mylene & Rosanne op weg naar Kiev" we see what happened after that time and we follow their preparations leading up to the grand final in Kyiv, Ukraine. Along with them travels presenter Ewout Genemans.

14/10 Dutch twins Mylene and Rosanne will on November 2 travel to northern Uganda in Africa. Together with singer and jury member Tim Douwsma they will be participating in the lives of Ugandan children.

AVRO Junior Songfestival has collaborated with charity organization Cordaid Kinderstem this year. All call and SMS revenue from live shows went to this charity. Tim Douwsma and Mylene & Rosanne will oversee what happens to these proceeds in Uganda. During their journey they also visit the orphans Steven and his sister Brenda.

They will meet the kids in a local school, will be making music together and will visit aid projects to learn about the work of the charity. Report about this trip will be broadcasted at 12.40 on November 27 on Zapp/Ned3.

Тим Доувсма и Милен и Росанн будут наблюдать за тем, на какие расходы пойдут эти средства в Уганде. Во время своей поездки они также навестят сирот Стивена и его сестру Бренду.

Katja Schuurman, Brownie Dutch and Tim Douwsma will be members of Adult jury during live shows. Together with Junior jury, headed by Femke Meines, and televoters they will decide who of the semifinalists will qualify to the Grand Finale on September 28. Show will be hosted by Ewout Genemans, who has announced it will be his last JSF season as host.

All revenues from televoting will goto Cordaid Kinderstem charity and will help education of children in Uganda. Cost of 1 vote is 0.60 Euro, there are no limits on number of votes sent.

For fans of the show, AVRO has presented series of videos "Wie is?", "In da house", "JSF presents", and other TV shows, as well as JSF Magazine. You can also interact with all the participants via their social media accounts in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Hyves.

The official CD of the JSF 2013 is already available and group song "Glitter & Glamour" is now charting in Kids Top 20, which is full of former Junior Eurovision entrants: Jump (Cheyenne & Mayleen), Ralf, Polle, Alessandro, Mainstreet, Femke, Fabian etc.

On 27th of April finalists of Dutch Junior Songfestival were named. As usual, 8 artists have been selected via two stage auditions system. Now their songs will be produced by top Dutch music producers and will be ready for the televized stage of the national selection in September-October.
