Swedish singer Robin Bengtsson, who participated in the Eurovision Song Contest last year, will be the guest of the final show of Icelandic Söngvakeppnin, which will be aired by RÚV live from Laugardalshöll on 3 March.
Last year Eurovision winners Måns Zelmerlöw and Alexander Rybak were the guests of the final show of the Söngvakeppnin, and in 2016, there were Loreen and Sandra Kim.

Eurovision Song Contest San Marino and 1in360 have released procedure and timetable for selecting San Marino’s ESC 2018 participant.
Following the revelation of the 11 short-listed candidates in December 2017, San Marino RTV and 1 in 360 have now announced the detailed procedure and timetable for the final round of the national selection of San Marino’s official representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
The representative will be selected over the course of three shows, which will be broadcast by San Marino RTV via terrestrial broadcast and satellite uplink and by 1 in 360 on its YouTube channel. Syndication opportunities are available.
The show times will be as follows:
February 9, 2018, 8:00 p.m. - First show
February 16, 2018, 8:00 p.m. - Second show
March 3, 2018, 9:00 p.m. - Final
The first and second shows will be pre-recorded, whereas the finals will be broadcast live from Bratislava. Fans who want to meet the candidates and judges up close at the finals and the after-show party are welcome to attend in person. All 11 candidates will perform in all three shows.
In preparation for the shows, candidates attended a songwriting camp, at which each of them developed two songs with the help of a team of experienced songwriters and producers. Candidates were allowed to contribute ideas to both their own songs and the songs of other candidates and were be encouraged to form teams. The interaction between the candidates will be covered in background footage shown on the 1 in 360 website.
In the first two shows, the candidates will perform acoustic versions of their songs, and the judges will provide feedback. At the end of the second show, the judges will pick one song for each candidate, of which the candidates will perform a fully produced version in the finals.
The live performances from the first two shows will be released as an album and as digital downloads on February 19, 2018.
The fully produced versions of the songs will be made available no later than February 23, 2018, giving fans a chance to listen to them ahead of the live performances.
The winner will be chosen by a combination of jury and online voting. The online vote will open on February 23, 2018 and extend through the end of the finals. Both the jury vote and the online vote will follow the Eurovision format, whereby the candidates will be awarded 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points in descending order of preference.
To avoid a repeat of the vote fraud allegations surrounding the fan vote and ensure maximum fairness and as representative a result as possible, two measures will be put in place:
The online vote will be conducted via Paypal, whereby each Paypal account will be limited to one vote at EUR 1
The jury and online vote will be weighted as follows: If not more than 50,000 votes are cast, the public vote will account for 10% of the overall vote tally. If more than 50,000 but not more than 100,000 votes are cast, the public vote will account for 20% of the overall vote tally. If more than 100,000 but not more than 200,000 votes are cast, the public vote will account for 30% of the overall vote tally. If more than 200,000 votes but not more than 250,000 votes are cost, the public vote will account for 40% of the overall vote tally. And if more than 250,000 votes are cast, the public vote will account for 50% of the overall vote tally.
As a fan engagement measure, 1 in 360 has partnered with Global Rockstar’s innovative crowdfunding platform to allow fans to participate in the success of a song by investing in it. An investment in a song entitles a fan to share in the royalties generated from every stream and download of the track for the term of copyright (70 years). San Marino RTV and 1 in 360 would like to emphasize that any investments made in the songs are entirely optional, will not be considered in the online vote tally and will have no bearing whatsoever on the chances of a candidate or song in the finals.

Vocalist of ethno-jazz group Iriao, which will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, Mikheil (Misho) Javakhishvili in an interview with Sputnik-Georgia, revealed some information about the preparation for the contest: "The song is being created by Dato Malazonia. It will be melodic, easy and understandable. At the Eurovision viewers usually pay much attention to some special effects, shows, performances. Often everything is decided by the elements of the show, rather than the vocal performance. If you have noticed in this show there often are uniquely designed screens, even on the floor and the back of the stage, and everything is done as much as possible so that a miracle is created during the song presentation.
But remember what happened last year, when Salvador Sobral won. There were no special effects or shows, but there was just a music. And after the victory, Sobral said that for him music is not fireworks, it is feelings, and this feelings have won. So, the stage and elements of the show are not the main thing now. Portugal itself calls for music to be the main element. So that the contestants present their way of thinking, and not a mathematically folded and winning-oriented entry. In my opinion, you must showcase what is really yours.
So, now several versions of our entry are being created. A few days ago we have listened to them all. We have stopped our attention on several best of them. And we think that we are on the right track. In no time at all, the public broadcaster and Iriao group will determine with what entry we will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. There will not be an open song selection this year. We think that our song will be a melodic, simple, memorable composition. Because the songs for "Eurovision" should be perceived exactly there, at the contest, which is here and now. Often after the "Eurovision" they no longer sound anywhere. But in my case, for example, I'm still listening to the song of Salvador Sobral. And this is against the background that even Portugal itself was not particularly interested in winning the contest"

"I have been watching the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007, when the Georgian Public Broadcaster became a member of the European Broadcasting Company and the country joined the Eurovision Song Contest. If I am not mistaken, Sopho Khalvashi was the first to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest. As it is known there is an opinion that this is a political competition, that there is low-level music, but I personally do not think so. There can be political decisions, but I still think that music is the main thing, and no money, no calls from the presidents to anyone and no political circumstances in the end can ever decide the fate of the music. Yes, of course, this is a contest, and we know how everything in contests is being decided, and, unfortunately, how it all happens in Georgia. But I still think that contests and festivals of "Eurovision" type always create a certain style, helping us understand what the listeners are interested in. BBC Music today confirmed the names of the six acts and songs that will take to the Eurovision: You Decide stage on Wednesday 7 February to compete for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal. Hosted by Mel Giedroyc and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw, the 90-minute UK Selection show will be broadcast live on BBC Two at 7.30pm, from the world-famous Brighton Dome, the site of ABBA’s 1974 Eurovision Song Contest win with Waterloo, and will feature performances by the six competing acts before the vote opens. Delegation of Cyprus and composer Alex Papaconstantinou have allegedly reached preliminary agreement with Eleni Foureira to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision 2018, reports Greek source Mikrofwno.
Several times in past Eleni Foureira, who is working with label Panik Records, has stated her interest to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest, however, her proposals were never accepted by the Greek broadcaster ERT.
After auditions for the new faces and followed negotiations with Helena Paparizou and Tamta didn't bring any results, logical choice of CyBC team was to approach another popular name in the regional showbiz. Eleni can also bring to the project strong support from her recording label, which will help in promoting the entry prior to the contest.
It is believed that Foureira will now record a version of the song already chosen by the broadcaster to represent Cyprus, and final decision on her participation will be taken after it.

Tomorrow BBC will reveal the list of participants of British national preselection: Eurovision: You Decide. Host of the contest Måns Zelmerlöw was the first to hear all the songs.

A 19 year old tradition disappears in the Melodifestivalen 2018 being replaced by a tradition that is 43 years old. Ever since the Melodifestival 1999, the jury has awarded its final marks on a certain scale. The seven best songs have scored from each jury on the scale 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 points. The best song therefore won 12 points, and the seventh best song has been awarded 1 point. The rest of the entries have not received any points at all.
This scorecard was practical at the time when the jury groups read all their points. Reading the score for seven entries took less time in the broadcast than reading it for ten.
In the European competition, in use is a 10-point scoring scale: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 points. This scale is classic and has been used for 43 years, since the Eurovision in Stockholm in 1975.
However, at the present moment both in the Eurovision and Melodifestivalen, the lower points currently are not being read - the spokespersons announce only 12 points. The rest just shows up in the graphics.
Statistician Marcus Björkander with some help from Melodifestivalen blogger Gustav Dahlander have convinced the Melodifestivalen leadership that it would be a good idea to move to the international Eurovision system of scoring.
In the new system, the jury will be awarding points to ten entries per jury group instead of seven. Only two songs then will remain without points - instead of five. This means that the points of the juries will be distributed more evenly between the entries, and the score scale will not create the same strong contrasts as before.
In addition, the transition to the Eurovision score scale means that the jury groups together get 638 points to be awarded. As a result, the total score of the televoting will also increase to 638.
Since the 2011 Melodifestivalen, the televoting score is divided by percentage. An entry that receives 5 percent of the votes will also receive 5 percent of the people's total score. And so on. And with more points to be distributed, bigger contrasts are created between entries for the people. Thus, the power of the people increases from two directions. The differences between the entries in the jury's points distribution will be smaller, while the differences will increase among the televoting.
In connection with this news, SVT also presents some app voting data:• Out of a total of 240 possible votes on all entries in all semifinals, Second Chance and Finals, those who use app-vote in average used 40 of these 240 possible votes.
• Just over 1.5% of the heart voters used all of their 240 app votes. These people thus gave all five hearts for all contest entries in all programs and, in other words, did not affect the competition results at all.
• The total number of votes has multiplied since the app was introduced in 2015, and last year, the phone and SMS votes also have increased.

9 songs will fight for the right to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
This will be five solo entries of five finalists of Operación Triunfo, three duets (one of which will include 6th contestant eliminated today) and group song Camina.
Winning entry of 9 options will be determined through televoting, SMS vote and app vote. In a first vote viewers will select the three best performances of the gala; and in the second, they will decide between them the winning entry.

Czech Television has published the names of ten foreign jurors who are evaluating entries of the Eurovision Song CZ. All members of the jury are former Eurovision participants. Their votes will be revealed tomorrow.

Dutch singer Waylon is going on tour this year along the major Dutch pop venues under the title "The World Can Wait", to the album of the same name that will be released later this year with his Songfestival entry that he will present on 10 March.Waylon, who will represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon in May, will start his tour in Grenswerk in Venlo on 12 April and end on 30 September in P3 in Purmerend. During the tour he can be seen in thirty pop stages. Five of the appearances will take place in April, before the Eurovision - 12,13,19,20,21. The ticket sale starts Tuesday at 9 am.
During the shows, Waylon will treat his audience to a taste of the long-awaited solo album that he will release after the Eurovision Song Contest. The title The World Can Wait is a reference to the exclusion of all external influences.

Deadline to apply for the national selection was completed on November 10th, and on December 11th, all the parcels that arrived at the Radio Television of Serbia were opened. 75 participants applied for the competition, and the selection committee made by RTS music editors listened to all the tracks received.
All the works were signed by the code so that the songwriters' names were unknown. Only after the shortlising took place, the selection committee was able to discover the identity of the music and lyrics authors.
The final determination of the entries that will compete at the Beovizija 2018 festival took place on December 25th.
The selected songs will be competing at the Beovizija 2018 festival, which will be held in the second half of February 2018 in the Sava Center in Belgrade.

Tickets for the Semi-Finals of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will go on sale on Tuesday 30th January at 11:00 CET
On Monday 29th January the Semi-Final Allocation Draw will take place in Lisbon. After the Allocation Draw, the ceremony that determines which countries will perform in each of the Semi-Finals, you will have the opportunity to buy tickets for all six shows.
Tickets for the Semi-Finals of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be priced at various levels and will go on sale at 11:00 CET on 30th January from official ticketing website BlueTicket.pt. It is strongly recommended that tickets are purchased through the official ticketing partner.

Final of the Greek national preselection will take place on Friday, 16 February in ERT studio in Katenaki. Program will be broadcast live on ERT 1 however three entries will be presented through the music videos which were filmed few days ago by ERT crew.
In the next days contracts for the participation in the national final will be signed.

The final night of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) is to be presented by Colin Fitz. This was announced this morning on Carlo’s Breakfast Cafe’ which is broadcast on the PBS radio station, ‘Magic Malta’.The news was given during the programme by last year’s presenter Daniel Azzopardi who handed the role over to Colin Fitz, who will be presenting the festival on 3 February.

The immediately most eye-catching participant in this year's field is the singer Sannie, better known by her artist name Whigfield. Up through the nineties, she was known in many parts of the world with hits like 'Saturday Night', 'Another Day' and 'Think of You'.
Two participants who have already performed on the stage of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix before are Ditte Marie and Albin Fredy. Ditte Marie took part as member of Le Freak in 2011 and again on her own in the following year, while Albin Fredy was competing in 2013.
Several of the participants in the year have been discovered through social media. Lasse Meling was discovered on YouTube at the age of 13 and already has several releases behind him. He debuts this year with 'Unfound'. YouTube is also the place where Sandra was discovered. She will be performing 'Angels to My Battlefield'.
Both Lasse Meling and Sandra have contributed themselves to writing their Grand Prix entries, the same as the debuting singer KARUI , who is going to sing 'Signals'. KARUI has for years sung gospel both as a soloist and in bands. Another act who also fully controls gospel singing are the three Faroese sisters Vanja, Laila and Barbara, who together form the trio CARLSEN. They will sing the song 'Standing Up for Love', which includes two Swedish songwriters as composers. This year's youngest participant is the 17-year-old Anna Ritsmar, who in 2016 reached the boot camp in X Factor. She returns to the spotlight with the song 'Starlight'.
Among the songwriters of this year's songs in the Danish Melodi Grand Prix, there are several names worth mentioning in particular: Lise Cabble and Rune Braager are Melodi Grand Prix veterans and both have 2 songs this year. With this year's two songs, Lise Cabble has written a total of 15 Grand Prix songs and has even won three times - no later than 2013, when she wrote 'Only Teardrops' to Emmelie de Forest. For Rune Braager it is his ninth and tenth contribution to the Danish Melody Grand Prix. Salvador Sobral will be appearing in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018: "I feel better with every day that passes"
The good news were confirmed by the musician's sister, Luísa Sobral, during the presentation of the performers and songs of the 50th edition of the Festival da Canção.
"If everything goes well, he's coming to the Eurovision. That's what we're waiting for. It's what's planned, "said the songwriter of the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Pelageya Stefoglo has been disqualified from the Moldovan national preselection.
According to the national final rules, participants of the Moldovan preselection can not compete in the similar national selection events of the other countries. Pelageya Stefoglo has broken this rule appearing on 11 January 2018 in the qualifying round for the Eurovision in Belarus.
Organizers note that this appearance had happened after the registration period was announced in Moldova and the conditions for the participation have been published.
At the same time, it was decided that two other singers - Sasha Bognibov and Sandy C & Aaron Sibley, whose names were on a selection site for San Marino will be allowed to perform in Moldova - because they have entered Sammarinese preselection before provisions of the Moldovan national final have been published.
Thus, 27 participants will perform in the live auditions of the Eurovision 2018 national selection, which will be held on January 24, 12:00, at the Karaoke Concert Hall Atrium, Albişoara Street, 4. Running order for the forthcoming Montevizija, which will be held on February 17th, was determined by a draw during the meeting of the songwriters and performers with the members of the RTCG team.
Of the five finalists who will fight for the Lisbon ticket, Nina Petković will perform first, and Lorena Janković will be the last of five performers.
Composer Aleksandra Milutinović, whose song will be singed by Katarina Bogicević, has drawn the number four, while Vanja Radovanović and Ivana Popović-Martinović got envelopes with numbers two and three respectively.
Slaven Knezović, member of the preselection jury, speaking today at TVCG's Jutarnji program, said that while this is a Song contest, the role of the performer is not less important - since he has a double role, vocally presenting the song and doing a stage performance. Knezović says he is sure that each of the entries is on par with the entries in the national finals in other countries of Europe."But Eurovision is a very complex event, where you have two blocs of states. In one block are countries that enter for the state prestige and in the other group are those who take part without looking for victory, since organization of the festival is a huge work and cost". In his words, for Montenegro participation in the festival is to get noticed on the European arena, and the reason for the return of the national final - is the ambition to revive a national pop music festival, and to increase it in the years to come.
New head of the Montenegro Eurovision delegation, Nataša Baranin, said that the Public Service is attempting to make every step in organization of the national preselection transparent, and the final decision will, of course, be left to the viewers. "On February 17, the spectators will decide on everything," said Baranin, who added that Montenegro has an obligation to support domestic songwriters because TVCG is their window into the world.

Estonian producer Mart Normet has announced stepping down from his role of producer of Eesti Laul after this season, explaining it with a wish to give himself and the Eesti Laul an opportunity to move forward.
"The main thing is that we can not remain in the development, which is why I am absolutely confident that the Eesti Laul 11, which will take place next year, will surely be organized by someone else and not me. It's time to move on and give this opportunity to someone else. I came here ten years ago, so may be someone ten years younger is now able to introduce his new energy in the project", said Normet speaking at "Hommik Anuga" program
Normet explained that whenever it comes to the moment when you know all the answers and you have no questions yourself, you have to finish the project. "It's all about a progress that if you become such an all-knowing person, then it is time to stop"
Asked what he would do after, Normet said that it is not known at the moment. De Eurovisa hosts Eva Frantz & Johan Lindroos have launched search for the ultimate Finnish Swedish speaking Eurovision fans to become guests at the annual review program.You do not need to be a musician, songwriter or music professional in any way, the important thing is that you like the Eurovision and discussing songs. Former TV experience is also no need, but of course it's a plus if you have been in front of the camera.

DR is dropping it's tradition of the postcards in the Melodi Grand Prix: Viewers will get a whole new experience.
Short presentation videos of the participants that have been aired just before they go on stage are now in the past, as DR has chosen to take the program into a new direction this year.
"Every year we have a desire to make the show even better. This year, a big change will happen, for the first time ever, we will drop the postcards in favour of talking live with the participants right after they have performed on the stage. We will make sure that viewers can come even closer to the participants for a moment, feel what they feel and hear what they think of their performance," explains DR entertainment manager Jan Lagermand Lundme
While the presentation of the ten participants has changed, the voting procedure will be the same as last year. The ten artists go on stage and sing their songs. After that, the TV viewers, who have 50 percent of the votes will start voting alongside and a jury consisting of five Eurovision fans that has the remaining 50 percent of the votes. The votes of the viewers and the jury will be combined, and the three songs that have won the most votes will go to the superfinal round. Here the viewers and jury vote again, and the vote remains 50-50.
"We were really pleased that we introduced a jury of Eurovision fans last year, so we were able to get their perspective on the songs. The selected fans have experience of so many Eurovision shows and know what works and what does not work and therefore their opinion is important for choosing a song that can achieve a good result for Denmark", says Jan Lagermand Lundme.
"It is important that we get good result at the Eurovision to maintain the interest towards the Melodi Grand Prix among the Danish population. If we send songs that do not reach a good result, interest is falling at home. And it's too bad since the Melodi Grand Prix really is a show that is capable of gathering the population".
At last year's Eurovision, Anja managed to secure Denmark's first final spot for three years, which was DR's goal. This year, the ambitions are even higher; Denmark should be back in the top 10 of the contest. And it is absolutely possible with the ten songs that have been selected for the Danish Grand Prix this year, says entertainment manager Jan Lagermand Lundme. "I'm very happy for the ten songs and I know there's a great chance that whatever song is winning, it can be in the top 10", he says.
Who will be competing at the Dansk Melody Grand Prix 2018, will be revealed at a press conference tomorrow morning.

The Irish Sun on Sunday has learned Irish RTE bosses are plotting to send twin sisters’ band Heathers - Louise and Ellie MacNamara to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2018. However, they’ve yet to say yes, as the talented duo are working in different countries this year and collaborating on an upcoming album.
RTE insiders say the sisters — hailed as Ireland’s answer to Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit — are accomplished writers and performers and the dream act to represent Ireland.
Asked if they’d consider the Eurovision gig, Louise told the Irish Sun on Sunday: "Maybe. I’m not going to say yes or no. Possibly — but for me we’re focusing on a new record."
With two acclaimed albums under their belt, Heathers say they wouldn’t be put off singing in Eurovision. Louise added: "I think the competition has changed over the last couple of years. There are a lot more credible acts going for Eurovision now. I don’t think it’s something to throw away or to not consider.".
While Ellie, 28, is based in New York, twin sister Louise is mixing music with her day job as a lecturer at the BIMM Institute in Dublin.
Eurovision rumours aside, Heathers continue to work on their next album. Louise said: "It’s not as if we can’t work together. It’s possible to make music remotely even if we are continents apart and the ideas are going back and forth.".
Together for a decade, Heathers landed a hit single after Failte Ireland used their song Remember When for a major advertising campaign. Their single Forget Me Knots (It’s Alright Not To Feel OK) was also hailed by mental health advocates and used in campaigns worldwide.
Meanwhile, it is known that the broadcaster considers 10 potential entries for the contest. His marks to the songs published member of the international jury panel Israeli music manager Alon Amir. He has rated only 2 of the songs as having potential chances to qualify to the finals, however noting they will struggle to reach place over 10th. Another member of panel is TV and radio host Eoghan McDermott. He also highlighted 2 of 10 entries, calling them strong contenders, adding that 6 songs were too similar to each other.

Starting in 2018 Eurovision events will be using new accreditation platform - Accredion developed by digital agency Scrn lead by Sietse Bakker. Back in 2008, Scrn was asked to take care of online accreditation at the largest music competition ánd one of the most advanced TV productions in the world: the Eurovision Song Contest. There was Excel and there were multi-million euro/dollar systems built by large IT companies. And in between, there were all sorts of solutions that just didn’t fit their needs. So, they have built a custom accreditation system, which over the years grew to become one of the fundamental pillars of the event’s organisation, the European Broadcasing Union (EBU).
Based on years of fine-tuning and countless lessons learned, it was decided to completely rebuild the platform in 2017. A year later, they launch Accredion - which however will not be exclusively available for the EBU events, but also can be purchased by other leading event organizers around the world.
But meanwhile, the Eurovision Family of Events, and in particular the Eurovision Song Contest, remains its biggest and most prestigious user. How do they use Accredion?
Accreditation is one of the fundamental ingredients of the contest’s security concept. To get access to the event premises, an accreditation badge is a must-have — no exception. Months before the live shows, that traditionally take place in May, crew, volunteers, delegates, press and fans start applying for accreditation.
All together, eventually some 10,000 people receive accreditation to the event. Every one of them has been reviewed at least twice, both by the Head of Delegation of their respective country (in case of delegates, press and fans) or by the Head of Department (in case of crew) and by the organiser. It’s a meticulous process, to which Accredion’s accreditation module aims to provide a flawless tool.
In addition to the core of Accredion, which is all about accreditation, the EBU will be using the Accredion PLUS suite of intranet-style features; file exchange (Accredion Files), the newsletter module (Accredion Newsletter) and an advanced data collection tool called Accredion Forms. With the latter, the organisers can collect all relevant data from the participating acts necessary to produce what is most certainly one of the most complex television productions in the world. From artist biographies to dietary requirements and from master sound tracks to directing suggestions for the production crew — it will all being gathered and distributed via the suite of Accredion PLUS features.The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon will be Accredion’s first live event. “While exciting for everyone involved, we do rely on a decade worth of experience with Accredion’s predecessor. So, we are convinced of a smooth operation. But as every year, we will learn new lessons, which we will use to make Accredion even better," says Sietse Bakker, CEO of Scrn, the agency behind Accredion.
Scrn thanks the EBU and in particular Andreas Schmitz, the EBU’s Accreditation Manager for the Eurovision Song Contest, for his continued support and valuable input during developement and testing of Accredion.

Three songs were outlined as potential Bulgarian entries for Eurovision 2018. This has been the outcome from the focus groups voting that has been running in the last two weeks. From 13 projects 3 have met the threshold of 7 on average mark in all panels.
Now the results will be discussed with the respective producers. The final choice will be a result of numerous factors with the leading one being the potential for further development of each project and stage concept among others.
The voting has shown a full spectrum of proposals with respect to the quality. All the songs have been split into 5 categories (Awful, Below Average, Average, Excellent, Amazing) and the results show that there were projects fitting in all of the definitions. The top 3 ended up being congested in an extremely hostile environment, as especially the professional juries have been asked to be prudent with their marks.
The scale of personal perception by each of the panelists is defined in the following way:Amazing (10) should be considered an entry with great chances to win the contest;
Excellent (7,8,9) is an entry that could be destined for a TOP 5 and has a good shot at winning as well;
Average (4,5,6) is an entry that is expected to qualify to the Grand Final but finish outside TOP 10;
Below Average (1,2,3) is an entry that has some chances to qualify to the Grand Final but most probably will miss it out;
Awful (0) is an entry that should not be considered under any conditions;
The average mark of all the 13 projects is 4,84 while the three best-received projects are ranked above 7,50 each.
Although meant to be a comprehensive tool for song evaluation, the system has some important limitations. First and most important one, is the fact there is no sufficient data to assign the personal perceptions of the jurors to concrete entries from this year’s edition. The definition of the respective categories relies on common sense and past experience but whether an entry is winning or qualifying to the final depends on the context it has been put into. Said in other words – until we have some more information about the other songs, the above-mentioned definitions are more or less a shot in the dark and should be not taken as an absolute measure.
The other one is that the panelists are judging the current state of the projects which still leaves the analysys of the big picture in the hands of the broadcaster.

National preselection will consist of two semi-finals on 18 and 25 February 2018, at RTP’s studios in Lisbon, and a final on 4 March 2018, at the Pavilhão Multiusos in Guimarães. Each semi-final will feature thirteen songs from which seven will advance to the final. Results during the semi-finals are determined by a jury panel appointed by RTP and votes from the public. In the final, the winner is determined by the votes from regional jury panels and public voting.

In these days in Vienna, rehearsals for the San Marino national final 1in360 are taking place. 11 singers chosen to compete in the preselection have been working in the Viennese Echo Pilot studio on the entries that they will be performing during the talent show. Father of Zoë Christof Straub is artistic director of the show.
Ballads, reggae, r&b are among the styles which could be seen in shows on San Marino RTV in January and February. Broadcaster also mentions that home singer rapper Irol will likely perform a duet at preselection.

Song which will represent Cyprus at the Eurovision 2018 is already chosen. After unsuccessful attempt of televized preselection, national delegation opted to search internally for a female singer to perform song written by Alex Papaconstantinou.
According to the OGAE Greece sources the song is up tempo, with dance / ethnic rhythms and many orchestral sounds while the title refers to something hot.
Based on the unofficial information, in the recent days representatives of Cypriot broadcaster run talks with Helena Paparizou, Tamta, Eleni Foureira and other Greek singers, but so far did not reach an agreement.

TVE and Gestmusic have been considering more than 200 songs proposed both for soloists and duos. The selection of the songs was practically closed without knowing the finalists of 'Operación Triunfo 2017'.
Broadcaster and producers of the show made a call for professional entries back in December. They did this through editorials for professional songwriters, although direct requests have also been made to particular composers and there have also been independent writers who have contacted those responsible to submit their proposals.
All songs had to fulfil Eurovision rules, being original and unpublished. The second requirement was that they should have had lyrics in Spanish, as FormulaTV has confirmed.
The deadline was to close during the first half of January, although eventually it lasted a few more days to receive the latest proposals. In total, about 200 songs were received .
Once received, a thorough listening work has been done to select the chosen songs and assign them to the contestants. The authors have not been able to decide for which finalist they wanted to send their song although they have been able to indicate their preferences and even if they wanted it to be for a solo contestant or if it was designed for some combination or a duo. In this sense, as reported by FormulaTV, there is an intention that there could be actually more than one song per finalist, so that there are proposals for soloists, duets and even some group proposal, as the audience demands. It is also not ruled out, as it happened with Rosa López, that other contestants will travel to Lisbon with the selected representative as backing singers.
What songs have been chosen and assigned to the contestants, both they and the public will know on Tuesday, January 23. The usual distribution of entries will include a visit to the Academy of the songwriters and composers, whose mission will be to transmit the values of the song to possible representatives of Spain at Eurovision. The authors must be open to the participants to introduce small variations in order to be comfortable with the songs and feel the Eurovision proposal as theirs.
Four out of five names have already been confirmed for the Eurovision gala: Amaia, Aitana, Alfred and Miriam, while Agoney and Ana Guerra will battle for the final spot.

According to ESCKAZ sources, BTRC will likely allow entry of Alekseev - Forever to compete in the national final of Belarus for the Eurovision 2018. At the same time, in case of his victory at the national tour, broadcaster will likely insist on replacement entry for the same singer.
The action plan looks very similar to the year of participation of Dmitry Koldun. For the role of songwriter of the new contest entry of Alekseev will likely be invited well-known foreign composer and producer. It is quite possible that similarly to the case of Koldun - it will be Philipp Kirkorov and his Dream Team. In this case, the real Belarus entry may be revealed on the last possible date - during the Heads of Delegatons meeting in Lisbon.
The plans of broadcaster to allow Alekseev to compete with which is clearly ineligible entry in accordance to the national final rules, have already met objections of other competitors. First act to announce withdrawal from the national preselection today is Sofi Lapina.
"Nothing has changed. The eyes have been closed on the violation of the rules, and they will be closed in all the future. It is not even about honest fight, but about the apparent double standards, that allow some artists completely reckless attitude to the contest regulations", stated manager of the singer Sergey Kim. "We have decided to withdraw from the qualifying round, I like any self-respecting artist do not want to be a decoration on celebration of life of someone else", added Sofi Lapina

According to music producer of the show Ruslan Kvinta, the main difference of the National Preselection 2018 is that there are more male than female acts, and most of the songs which will be performed as self-written.
"During the first stage of selection, we have received more than 1,000 applications. This shows how our music industry is developing. I am proud that today the Ukrainian songs acquire a completely new face - modern, fashionable. And it is on song quality, we have relied. It must have love for music, and a bold decision, and the face of the artist. Not important if he is famous or not. We spent a tremendous amount of work to select best of the best, and I can easily say that the viewers will hear very good music and see strong (dare I say it) artists. Personally, I believe in each of them. Moreover, all the songs are written by the participants themselves, there is not a single purchased track - it makes me as a music producer very happy"
In the live broadcasts of the national selection will sound around 16 music genres, among which are indie pop, authentic, reggie, house, experiment pop, folks, and others.
"We would like to diversify as possible the line-up of the participants by genre and style to show the tastes of guys and their creative component, - explains the choice Ruslan Kvinta -. "I was available to anyone who wanted to meet me, discuss repertoire and the search. Every returning artist who wanted to compete again we have studied like under a microscope; to them I had special requirements, as I warned at once - the repertoire and new creative vector. I can say that with some of them I was pleasantly surprised, pleased with their serious approach and the fact that they heard all the recommendations and prepared well"
On January 19 there will be a draw to determine the order of performances in the semi-finals of the national final. In 2018 there are planned two semifinals (February 10 and 17), in each of which will perform 9 artists. In the final, which will take place on February 24, there be 6 participants. Winner of the national selection will represent Ukraine at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon (Portugal) with the same song with which he participated in the selection process.

Swedish Melodifestivalen gets the biggest stage ever. • At the widest, the stage is 30 meters, the height is record as well
• Size of the central part of the stage is 14 x 14 meters.
• A total of 68 LEDs with 10-millimeter resolution are available
• The LED columns begin at the back of the 9 meter high and extend downwards to end the arena floor among the audience.
• The columns are 1 square meter in base and stand at 1 meter intervals.

Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu will be the hosts of Eurovision Romania. The well-known actress and the artist who represented Romania at Eurovision 2013 are the hosts of the semi-finals and of the National Selection Final. The semi finals of the show, Selecţia Naţională, start on Sunday, at Focşani, and will be broadcast live on TVR 1, TVR International and TVR Moldova, as well as on TVR+, starting from 21.00 hrs.
Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu will be the hosts of the semi-finals and of the Eurovision Final. The two artists will host the shows on January 21st, January 28th, February 4th, 11th February and February 18th and also the Big Final of the Selecţia Naţională, on February 25th 2018.

This year, the Selecţia Naţională will take place under the slogan Eurovision unifies Romania! For the first time in the history of Romania’s participation at Eurovision, the Selecţia Naţională will be made up of 5 semi-finals organised in 5 cities. The shows of the Selecţia Naţională have their debut on January 21st 2018 in Focsani city, with the first semi-final. In her career, she has played in numerous movies and TV series such as: "Eva’s sins", "The prisoner", "Movies like love", "Gender war", "The queen", "Aniela", "Love and honour", "Life bet", "Lie to me beautifully", "In the movie at the Godfather’s’", "Lost angels", "A royal Christmas", "Another road" and "The unlucky man". Diana Dumitrescu had her debut in TVR with the programme on channel TVR 2 "New Year’s Eve at the Cabaret", together with artists such as: Toni Grecu, Monica Anghel, Cătălina Grama (Jojo) and Dragoş Muşat (Tetelu).
One of the most talented countertenors of his generation, with a special musicality and a gifted vocal technique, Cezar Ouatu represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, in Malmö, with the song "It’s My Life" (music and lyrics by Cristian Faur). He was highly priased at the Eurovision Song Contest, by celebrities such as: Bonnie Tyler, Andrea Bocelli, Vangelis, Angela Gheorghiu and Nadia Comăneci, and praised for his originality by the famous designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Born in 1980, in Ploieşti, in a family of musicians, Cezar Ouatu started to study the piano at the age of 6 and graduated the piano and choir sections at "Carmen Sylva" Art High school from his hometown. In 1998, he consolidated his knowledge in canto and baroque music and made himself known for his voice, natural abilities and also for his remarkable vocal extension. In 2001, he is accepted at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory from Milano, and in 2004, he obtains maximum points at the state exam, graduating this way one of the most famous conservatories in Europe. His unmistakable voice has determined his fans call him "The Voice".

"KP Belarus" published a letter of appeal of the finalists of the National selection to the BTRC regarding the participation in the finals of the selection of the singer Nikita Alekseev: "In connection with the appearance in the public domain of the unofficial information that unambiguously characterizes the position of the BTRC regarding a number of violations committed during the submission of the application for participation in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 from the Republic of Belarus by the performer Nikita Alekseev and / or his representatives: we as the finalists of the above mentioned preselection make the following statement:
- We will not sign the contract for the participation in the final part of the national preselection until BTRC takes an honest and fair decision - the disqualification of the artist Nikita Alekseev
- We question the qualifications and business reputation of the artist Nikita Alekseev and his management
- We do not consider it possible to participate in the farce, which will be similar to the final of the national selection in the event of the appearance of the artist Alekseev in it. Our participation will undoubtedly cause us reputational harm, insult our honor and human dignity
- We call all not indifferent colleagues in the field of show business to pay attention to this glaring situation and PUBLICLY give their authoritative assessments to what is happening.
Violations made during the application by Nikita Alekseev and / or his representatives are:
- Forever song presented in the application is translated into English, slightly rearranged and shortened version of the song "Navsegda", which is confirmed by the independent expert opinions. The first public performance of this song took place in May 2017 as part of a commercial tour, which directly violates the provisions of the current Regulations of the National Selection. The song was performed many times in the framework of the above-mentioned tour, which gave the singer Alekseev an undeniable advantage not only in the framework of the national selection, but also in the context of the main Eurovision Song Contest 2018

In an interview to French media Télé-Loisirs schlagergeneralen Christer Björkman got the status of "icon" for the Eurovision fans, called so by the interviewer.
He spoke about his involvement in the national preselection of France Destination Eurovision:
"The production asked me if I was interested. You know, I lived in France a few years in the late 80s, early 90s. I love your country, and I always liked the songs that have represented you in Eurovision. And this, since I was very small. My favorite being the entry of Marie Myriam . In recent years, I was saddened by the results of France at the contest. It was almost painful for me that your country did not have a national team worthy of the name. Because for me, you can only stir up emotion around a song if people understand their selection process. It's good that it happens now. And I am very happy to be part of this adventure. Because I've been waiting for this show for a very long time"
Björkman is asked about the role of the international jury and accusation that foreigners might vote for the songs which will make the easiest rivals to their home countries. "We had the same questions in Sweden about the Melodifestivalen , since European countries also vote to choose our song. But that's ridiculous. Because we take great pride in being part of a jury such as the one I'm attending today. I can guarantee you that we will vote for the song that seems to be the best. But afterwards, it's always difficult to know if this song is the one that had to be selected to win Eurovision"
Critics also have pointed out the choice of artists as being the ones close or favoured by the production team. Christer responds: "We also had the same, when we started. Especially the first five years. We were accused of favoring our friends. But once the format really came up, people started to trust us. These criticisms that you have just wiped are in the order of things"

"The "Eurovision 2018 Preselection" program is the first televised show in this year's National Selection project.
For competitors, the road to Lisbon is streaming with filming, rehearsing and a lot of emotions at all stages of the competition: pre-selection, the five semifinals and the Great Final.
At the preselection, the artists were invited to Studio 2 of TVR to support their live performances in front of the jury and the cameras.
We will watch them in the series of programs prepared by the Eurovision team starting Friday, January 12, in the preamble of the National Selection Semifinals. Over the course of three days, we will listen to the songs and we will find out for the first time the impressions of the jury and the warmth statements during the auditions.

The EBU Eurovision team have released details of the semi final draw. It will take place on 29th Jan at 13.00 CET, at Lisbon City Hall. The Mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, Will hand over the Host City Insignia to Fernando Medina, Mayor of Lisbon. The Semi Final Allocation Draw and the Host City Insignia Exchange are key milestones in the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest. The ceremony will be hosted by Sílvia Alberto and Filomena Cautela who form half of the presenting team for Eurovision 2018. You will be able to watch all the action live from Lisbon on YouTube.
The first part of the draw will determine in which Semi-Final each of the six pre-qualified countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and host country Portugal) will broadcast and vote. The second draw will then decide in which semi-final each of the other participating countries will perform. As in previous years, the exact running order will be determined by the producers of the show. From each Semi-Final, ten countries will proceed to the Grand Final on 12th May, joining the six pre-qualified countries. In total, 26 countries will be represented in the Grand Final.
The 37 Semi-Finalists have been allocated into six pots, based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the contest's official televoting partner Digame. Drawing from different pots helps to reduce the chance of so-called neighbourly voting and increases suspense in the Semi-Finals. Due to the uneven number of Semi Finalists, the host broadcaster RTP together with the EBU, and approved by the Reference Group of the Eurovision Song Contest, have decided that 19 participants will compete in the first Semi-Final and 18 participants will be allocated to the second Semi-Final.
RTP has also confirmed the space that will receive the euroclub of Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lust In Rio. ESCKAZ.com previously reported that this was to be the likely venue. Lust in Rio is a large venue and will meet the needs of accredited press and delegation members who wish to party the nights away in May during the Eurovision Song Contest.

Song Writing Camp for "Unser Lied für Lissabon" begins. The six participants in the German ESC pre-selection have been found – but what song do they want to present in "Unser Lied für Lissabon" to convince the audience? To write tailor-made songs for Xavier Darcy, Ivy Quainoo, Ryk, Michael Schulte, Natia Todua and the voXXclub band, 15 national and international lyricists, composers and producers will be getting together with the acts beginning on Wednesday, January 10th, for a three-day Song Writing Camp in Berlin. The idea is for alternating teams to write several songs for each participant. On the basis of this material, the decision will then be made as to which song is right for whom and how it should be staged. The participants can also contribute their own concepts. Three broadcasters will air the German pre-selection for the ESC on Thursday, 22 February 2018, at 8:15 p.m. live from Berlin: Das Erste, ONE and Deutsche Welle. The moderators will be Elton and Linda Zervakis.

Billy Austin is a U.S. songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist. He has written several Billboard Top 40 hits. Among others, Joe Cocker, Lionel Richie, Taylor Swift and Blake Shelton have recorded in his OmniSound Studio in Nashville. In collaboration with the Shedler Music publishing company, he offers successful international song camps in Austria and Nashville.
Ricardo "Richy" Bettiol comes from Basel and currently lives in Berlin. His genre is danceable pop music. He completed a BA in music production at the PopAkademie Baden-Württemberg and has been a co-author for Cassandra Steen, Ferras, Fahrenhaidt, Wankelmut, Andrew Applepie and others.
Axel Ehnström, one of Finland's most successful songwriters, once stood on the ESC stage himself. In Düsseldorf, under the name Paradise Oskar, he presented the song "Da Da Dam" for his home country. As an author, he was involved in the writing of songs like "Bad Ideas" of "Alle Farben", which won gold in Germany and Austria and was streamed more than 60 million times on various platforms.
Alex Freund from Cologne won several gold and platinum awards for his productions. He has worked with such artists as Andreas Bourani, Glasperlenspiel, Silly, Joy Denalane, Revolverheld and Silbermond, as well as the Canadian artist Johnny Reid. The Band TÜSN, from the outset supported by Freund, toured with Marylin Manson and others.
Martin Gallop has written for Udo Lindenberg, Lena, Robin Schulz, Till Brönner and Annett Louisan, with whom he also shared the stage on several tours. He is currently composing for Alma and Nico Santos, among others. The Canadian singer/songwriter has also produced several solo albums.
Loren Nine Geerts from the Netherlands works with dance greats in the Dutch DJ producer scene and labels like Armada or Spinnin’ Records. Her genre extends from dance, electronic and house to pop and rock. She was also the co-author of the song "Glowing", with which the Brazilian DJ FTampa was streamed more than eight million times just on Spotify.
Nisse Ingwersen from Hamburg began with German-language hip-hop. For several years, he has also been writing and producing for artists in other genres. For example, he works with Heike Kospach (Cassandra Steen, Adel Tawil), Charlie Grant (Simply Red, Melanie C) and Frank Sieben (official remixes for David Guetta, Nelly Furtado).
Nina Müller, who also lives in Hamburg, has been composing music for film and television since 2013, alone or as part of the composer duo "Oskar & Oskar". She is a lyricist and songwriter for various German and English language artists and is active with her own artistic projects as a singer and pianist. With her Duo "Poems for Jamiro" she won the Hamburg musician’s prize "Krach & Getöse" in 2014. In December 2017, the duo guested at the Elbphilharmonie.
Jaro Omar began, at the age of 14, as a singer-songwriter for the ARD children’s series "Schloss Einstein". Later he lived in New York and L.A., where, in part, he worked on songs for Ferras, the first artist signed by Katy Perry’s music label. Most recently, with Glasperlenspiel, Jaro wrote the album that was published in 2018. He has also currently placed songs of Zara Larsson and Vanessa Mdee.
Producers and songwriters Josh & Janik – Quarterhead – from Giessen have had, among other things, a gold album (#Zwilling), two nominations for the German Music Industry Award ECHO, remixes for Cro, songs with artists like Moguai (remixes for Dianne Warren) and Jake Reese and a worldwide Mercedes-Benz campaign.
Rainer Rütsch is a songwriter and producer for artists like house and techno DJ Wankelmut, U.S. singer and songwriter Banks, Swedish singer and songwriter Tove Lo, U.S. rapper Lupe Fiasco, singer and instrumentalist MarieMarie and the KLAN duo from Leipzig.
Thomas Stengaard, songwriter and composer from Denmark, has also had ESC experience: Together with Lise Cabble and Julia Fabrin Jakobsen he wrote the winning song of 2013, Emmelie de Forest’s "Only Teardrops". In Germany, he has worked for "The Baseballs", as well as for Fahrenhaidt, Duné, Carpartk North, Leslie Clio and Cisilia.
Joe Walter is, along with Jennifer Weist, the core of the successful german band "Jennifer Rostock". He also develops the texts, music and arrangements with Weist. As co-author, he has written for Stefanie Heinzmann, Yvonne Catterfeld and Wincent Weiss, for example, as well as for the song "Bonfire" from Felix Jaehn feat. Alma..
Ali Zuckowski from Hamburg was the co-author of the song "Rise Like A Phoenix", with which Conchita won the ESC in 2014. As a songwriter and producer, he actively works for Adel Tawil, Udo Lindenberg, Sasha, Alvaro Soler, Sarah Connor, Annett Louisan, Yvonne Catterfeld, Blue and Joy Denalane, among others.
Thomas Schreiber, Head of Entertainment at ARD: "It is fantastic that we have such a great mixture of very successful and experienced songwriters and extremely talented, young ones. The producer of "Our Song for Lisbon" is Matthias Alberti of Kimmig Entertainment. The programme was developed jointly by Florian Wieder and Jens Bujar (Lodge of Levity), digame mobile and the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (North German Broadcasting). It was directed by Volker Weicker. Advance tickets sales for the show are expected to begin in mid-January. The NDR will be providing further details on the German ESC preliminary decision for 2018 at a later time.

Eurovision fans have discovered that the Russian version of the contest entry of Nikita Alexeev for the national selection of Belarus "Forever" - "Navsegda" violates clause 9 of the preselection regulations:
"A song (music and / or lyrics can participate in the Project, if it was not commercially realized, and was not performed publicly before September 1, 2017: distributed over the Internet, as well as on any media (audio cassettes, CDs , mini-disks and the like) by means of sale or otherwise, transmitted to radio or television broadcast."
Thus, the composition "Forever" whose music was publicly performed until September 1 (in particular at a concerts in Kyiv (at 17.30 on the video below) and Stavropol in May and several other concerts of Alexeev) unequivocally violates this national rule.
It should be noted that the rules of the Belarusian national selection are more tight than the rules of the international Eurovision contest. However, to participate in the national selection it is necessary first of all to confirm that the song follows national rules.

Saara Aalto's UMK entries will be released in February. The first song will be released on February 9.
Although the Finnish representative at the Eurovision 2018 is known, the song is still a mystery. It will be on March 3 at a concert in Espoo Metro, where the audience can choose one of the three tracks Aalto will present in the national competition UMK.
There are three entries to choose from, and the first of them will be released with a music video on Friday 9 February. The second song and music video will be released a week later on 16.2. and the third at 23.2. The tracks will be available right at the midnight on the UMK website.
- All three songs are so awesome that any one of them could be a winner. All have really strong themes and memorable melodies. I believe everyone will find their own favorite and the show in March will be a very tight competition, Aalto promises in the UMK's press release
The song titles and the names of songwriters will be announced with the release of each song. The final number of the songs Saara considered for the contest was 22. Among others, she has collaborated in the recent months with Swedish songwriters Linnea Deb and Thomas G:son, as well as Finnish ESC acts Axel Ehnström and Norma John.
Choreography for each performance will be developed by top-ranked British stage director Brian Friedman . The 40-year-old Friedman is also known as the choreographer of the British X Factor program.

Eurovision Romania: 5 cities for 5 semi-finals: The cities of Focşani, Timişoara, Craiova, Turda and Sighişoara will host the semi-finals of the National Selection.
For the first time in the history of Eurovision Romania, the National Selection will have 5 semi-finals, organised in 5 cities which have as a common element, on the background of the Centenary Year, the theme of choosing Romanian representative at the international stage of Eurovision contest 2018. The next four semi-finals will be organised in the following cities Focşani (January 21st), Timişoara (January 28th), Craiova (February 4th), Turda (February 11th) and Sighişoara (February 18th).
The organisers have established the semi-finals repartition of the 60 songs. Each semi-final will comprehend 12 songs. The six songs and their performers have been confirmed: they will present their songs on Sunday, 4 February 2018, in the TV studio in Zurich - SRF two will broadcast the live show. The audience as well as an international expert jury select the winner in the live show, contributing 50 percent each.
For the "Eurovision Song Contest" in 2018 SRF, together with RTS, RSI and RTR, searched for the song and the participants who will travel to Portugal in May 2018. A 20-member independent jury of music and media creators, "ESC" fans and spectators selected the songs that are included in the live show.
The six qualified artists present their song in the national live show on Sunday, 4 February 2018. This program will be broadcast live from the Zurich TV studio and moderated by Sven Epiney. Stefan Büsser reports from the backstage area. In the end, 50 percent of the television audience will vote via televoting and 50 percent will be selected by an international jury of experts from seven countries to represent Switzerland in the "Eurovision Song Contest" in Portugal in 2018. The representatives of this international expert jury will be announced after the show on February 4, 2018, based on the international competition.

Телевидение Сан Марино и 1 in 360 объявили процедуру и расписание дальнейших стадий выбора представителя Сан-Марино на Евровидении 2018.
После обнародования 11 финалистов в декабре 2017 года, San Marino RTV и 1 in 360 теперь готовы объявить подробную процедуру и график финального тура национального отбора официального представителя Сан-Марино на Евровидении 2018 года.
Представитель будет выбран в рамках трех шоу, которые будут транслироваться San Marino RTV через наземные и спутниковые сети, а также на Youtube канале 1 in 360.

Взаимодействие между кандидатами будет показано в виде закулисных роликов, которые будут размещены на сайте 1 in 360.
На первых двух шоу кандидаты будут исполнять акустические версии своих песен, и судьи выскажут о них свое мнение. В конце второго шоу судьи выберут по одной песне для каждого кандидата, полноценную версию которой они исполнят в финале.
Живые выступления с первых двух шоу будут выпущены в виде альбома в цифровом формате 19 февраля 2018 года.
Полностью готовые версии песен будут доступны не позднее 23 февраля 2018 года, давая поклонникам возможность прослушать их перед живыми выступлениями.
Победитель будет определен комбинацией жюри и онлайн-голосования.
Онлайн-голосование откроется 23 февраля 2018 года и продолжится до конца финального шоу. Как голосование членов жюри, так и онлайн-голосование будут соответствовать формату Евровидения, в соответствии с которым кандидаты будут получать 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 и 1 баллов в порядке убывания предпочтения.
Чтобы избежать повторения утверждений о мошенничестве связанном с онлайн голосованием и обеспечить максимальную справедливость и как можно более репрезентативный результат, будут приняты две меры:
Онлайн-голосование будет проводиться через Paypal, в соответствии с которым каждый счет Paypal будет ограничен одним голосом стоимостью в 1 евро.
Соотношение результатов жюри и онлайн-голосования будут рассчитаны следующим образом: если будет подано не более 50 000 голосов, то вес голосования публики составит 10%, если будет подано от 50 до 100 000 голосов - 20%, от 100 до 200 000 - 30%, от 200 до 250 000 - 40% и если будет подано свыше 250 000 голосов, то их вес станет равным - 50 на 50.
В качестве меры поддержки фанатами, 1 in 360 присоединился к инновационной платформе Global Rockstar, которая позволяет поклонникам участвовать в успехе песни, вкладывая в нее деньги. Вложение в песню дает право фанатам право получать роялти от каждого трека за каждое его скачивание или стрим на протяжении действия авторского права (70 лет). Вокалист этно-джаз группы Iriao, которая представит Грузию на Евровидении 2018, Михаил (Мишо) Джавахишвили в интервью Спутник-Грузия рассказал некоторую информацию о подготовке к конкурсу. "Песню создает Дато Малазония. Она будет мелодичной, легкой и понятной. На "Евровидении" обычно большое внимание уделяется спецэффектам, шоу, представлению. Часто все решают элементы шоу, а не вокальные данные исполнителя. Если вы замечали в этом шоу часто присутствует уникально оформленный экран, даже пол и задняя часть сцены. И все максимально делается для того, чтобы произошло чудо во время песни.
Но вспомним, что произошло в прошлом году, когда победил Сальвадор Собрал. Не было никаких спецэффектов или шоу, а была просто музыка. И после победы Собрал сказал, что для него музыка – это не фейерверк, это чувство, и это чувство победило. Так что, оформленная сцена и элементы шоу сейчас не главное. Сама Португалия призывает, чтобы главной была музыка. Чтобы конкурсанты представили свое мышление, а не математически сложенное и ориентированное на победу произведение. По моему мнению, ты должен показать то, что является твоим.
Так что, сейчас создается несколько версий подобных песен. Несколько дней назад мы их отслушали. Мы остановили свое внимание на нескольких из них. И думаем, что идем по правильному пути. И это на том фоне, что даже сама Португалия тогда не была особо заинтересована в победе".

"Решение, что мы поедем на Евровидение было неожиданным для нас. Кстати, многие нас спрашивают – почему именно Iriao едет на "Евровидение"? И почему не было конкурса? Дело в том, что у Общественного вещателя есть право или провести внутри отборочный конкурс и выявить победителя в результате голосования среди зрителей и жюри, или самим выбрать исполнителя или музыкальный коллектив. В этом случае Общественный вещатель сам представил кандидата для "Евровидения". Так что, для нас это все, конечно, радостно, но в то же время это большая ответственность".

Представительница Бельгии Лаура Грусенекен приняла участие в вечеринке ОГАЕ Бельгии и пообщалась с его членами.
Певица рассказала, что ее конкурсная песня уже была выбрана, и в настоящее время ведется работа над ее записью. За последние три месяца было отсмотрено множество вариантов, сама Грусенекен приняла участие в не менее, чем двадцати сессиях записи, а также получила множество предложений от других авторов.
В итоге, певица примет участие в конкурсе с песней собственного авторства. По словам Лауры, от своей песни у нее немедленно идут мурашки.

Телеканал BBC объявил сегодня ночью имена шести финалистов отборочного шоу Eurovision : You Decide, которое пройдет 7го февраля. Проведут шоу Мел Гидройс и победитель Евровидения 2015 Монс Зельмерлев, выйдет оно в прямой эфир телеканала BBC Two из легендарного Brighton Dome, в котором в 1974 году ABBA одержала победу на Евровидении с песней Waterloo.

Делегация Кипра и композитор Алекс Папаконстантину достигли предварительной договоренности о том, что Элени Фурейра представит эту страну на конкурсе 2018 года, сообщает греческое издание Mikrofwno.
Несколько раз в прошлые годы певица, работающая с лейблом Panik Records, заявляла о своем интересе выступить на Евровидении от Греции, однако, ее предложения не были приняты греческим вещателем ERT.
После того, как прослушивания новых лиц, и последовавшие за ними переговоры с Еленой Папаризу и Тамтой не принесли результатов, следующим логическим шагом стало обращение к еще одной популярной исполнительнице в региональном шоу-бизнесе. Элени также может привлечь в проект свой лейбл, который поможет в предконкурсном продвижении песни.
Полагают, что Фурейра теперь запишет свою версию песни, уже выбранной для того, чтобы представить Кипр на конкурсе, и окончательное решение об ее участии будет принято уже после этого.

19-летняя традиция исчезает на шведском Melodifestivalen, и ее заменит другая - 43-летняя. Каждый год, начиная с Мелодифестиваля 1999 жюри давало свои баллы по определенной шкале. Семь лучших песен получали от каждого жюри баллы по шкале 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 и 12 баллов. Лучшая песня, таким образом, получала 12 балллов, а песня на седьмом месте - 1 балл. Остальные песни не получали баллов вообще.
Это голосование было практичным в то время, когда глашатаи полностью читали все баллы международных жюри. Прочитать баллы за семь песен занимало меньше времени в эфире, чем за 10.
На международном же Евровидении используется система оценки 10 песен: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 и 12 баллов. Эта шкала является классической и используется уже 43 года, начиная с Евровидения 1975 в Стокгольме.
Однако, в настоящее время и на Евровидении, и в Мелодифестивалене низшие баллы уже не зачитываются - глашатаи объявляют лишь 12 баллов. Остальные просто демонстрируются на экране.
Статистик Мелодифестивалена Маркус Бьоркандер при помощи блоггера Густава Дахландера убедил организаторов Мелодифестивалена о том, что будет хорошей идеей перейти к международной системе оценивания песен.
В новой системе жюри будет давать баллы десяти песням, вместо семи. Таким образом, только две песни останутся без баллов, вместо пяти. Это значит, что баллы от жюри будут распределены более пропорционально между всеми участвующими песнями, и шкала голосования жюри не будет такой контрастной, как раньше.
Помимо того, переход на шкалу Евровидения означает, что жюри вместе дадут 638 баллов. В результате, количество баллов зрителей также будет увеличено до 638.
С Мелодифестивалена 2011 года, баллы телезрителей рассчитываются в зависимости от процентного соотношения. Так, песня получившая 5 процентов голосов получит также 5 процентов от общего количества баллов. И так далее. При том, что теперь у зрителей больше баллов, это создаст большие контрасты в их голосовании. Таким образом, вес зрительского голосования увеличивается с дух сторон: разницы между баллами в голосовании жюри станут меньше, а разницы в голосовании зрителей увеличатся.
Помимо этого, SVT также опубликовал некоторые данные о голосовании в мобильном приложении: • Из 240 возможных голосов за все песни в полуфиналах, втором шансе и финале, те, кто голосует в мобильном приложении, использовали в среднем 40 из 240.
• Только около 1.5% голосующих использовали все свои 240 голосов. Таким образом, они дали пять сердечек всем конкурсным песням во всех программах. Другими словами, их голосование никак не повлияло на результаты конкурса.

Победитель из 9 композиций будет выбран голосованием зрителей по телефону, СМС и через мобильное приложение шоу. Сначала зрители определят три лучших варианта, а потом - победителя Евро-отбора.

Голландский исполнитель Уэйлон отправится в тур "The World Can Wait", который охватит все крупнейшие поп-площадки Нидерландов, в поддержку одноименного альбома. Альбом выйдет в свет после финала конкурса Евровидение, и будет включать в себя конкурсную песню исполнителя, которая будет представлена 10 марта. Уэйлон, который будет представлять Нидерланды на Евровидении в Лиссабоне, начнет свой тур в Гренсверке в Венло 12 апреля, и закончит 30 сентября в P3 в Пурмеренде. Во время тура он посетит 30 локаций. Пять из концертов пройдут в апреле - 12,13,19,20,21 - еще перед Евровидением. Продажа билетов начнется завтра в 9 утра по местному времени.
Во время концертов Уэйлон продемонстрирует своей аудитории песни из долгожданного нового сольного альбома, который он выпустит перед Евровидением. Название тура - И пусть мир подождет, подчеркивает необходимость исключить все внешние влияния и погрузиться в музыку.

В международную делегацию должны подавать свои заявки только лица не проживающие в участвующих странах, а также представляющие международные новостные агентства, фотоагентства, международные фан-сайты.
Крайний срок подачи заявок - 6 апреля, они будут рассмотрены до 13 апреля.

Билеты на полуфиналы Евровидения 2018 поступят в продажу 30 января во вторник в 13:00 Москвы.
29 января в понедельник состоится жеребьевка - распределение полуфиналов. После того, как станет известно в каком из полуфиналов выступит каждая страна, будет можно приобрести билеты на них.

Финал греческого отбора пройдет в пятницу, 16 февраля, в студии ERT в Катенаки. Программа выйдет в прямой эфир ERT 1, но презентация трех финалистов пройдет посредством видеоклипов, которые были сняты несколько дней назад творческой командой ERT.
В ближайшие дни с тремя финалистами отбора будут подписаны контракты на участие в нем.
Победитель отбора будет определен 100% зрительским голосованием.

Салвадор Собрал появится в финале Евровидения 2018 года: "Я чувствую себя лучше с каждым днем"
Хорошие новости подтвердила сестра музыканта Луиза Собрал во время презентации исполнителей 50-го выпуска Festival da Canção.
"Если все будет хорошо, он выступит на финале Евровидения. Это то, чего мы ждем. Это то, что запланировано", - сказала автор песни, победившей на Евровидение 2017 года. "Все в порядке". Это был короткий ответ Луизы Собрал, когда ее спросили о здоровье брата. Pelageya Stefoglo была дисквалифицирована с национального молдавского отбора на Евровидение.
Согласно правилам молдавского отбора, его участники не имеют права принимать выступать на аналогичных отборочных турах, проводимых в других странах. Пелагея Стефогло нарушила данное правило, приняв участие 11го января 2018 года в отборочном туре к Евровидению в Беларуси.
Организаторы отметили, что данное выступление имело место уже после того, как был начат прием заявок в Молдове и были опубликованы правила национального отбора.
В то же время, было решено, что два других исполнителя - Саша Богнибов и Sandy C & Aaron Sibley, подавшие свои заявки для участия в отборе Сан-Марино смогут выступить в Молдове, поскольку они сделали это еще до публикации правил молдавского национального отбора,
Таким образом, на живых прослушиваниях выступят 27 артистов. Прослушивания пройдут 24 января в 12:00 в Karaoke Concert Hall Atrium, Albişoara Street, 4. Они будут транслироваться в прямом онлайн эфире на сайте вещателя. Профессиональное жюри оценит выступления кандидатов.

Славен Кнезович, член отборочного жюри, стал гостем утренней программы РТЦГ, где рассказал, что несмотря на то , что Евровидение - это конкурс песен, роль их исполнителя тоже важна - он не только вокально исполняет песню, но и демонстрирует номер на нее. Кнезович добавил, что он уверен, что каждая из песен, вышедших в финал отбора находится на одном уровне с отборами других стран Европы. "Но Евровидение - это очень комплексное мероприятие. В нем есть две группы стран - одна участвует ради национального престижа, а вторая - без стремления к победе, ведь организация конкурса - очень затратный процесс". По его словам, для Черногории участие в Евровидении - это прежде всего возможность быть замеченной на европейской арене - а возвращение к открытому отбору - попытка воссоздать национальный фестиваль поп-музыки, который в следующие годы будет увеличиваться в размерах.
Новая глава делегации Черногории на Евровидении, Наташа Баранин, говорит, что общественный вещатель сделал все от него зависящее, чтобы сделать процесс отбора прозрачным. Окончательное слово будет за зрителями. Исполнительный продюсер эстонского отбора Eesti Laul Март Нормет заявил о том, что покинет свой пост по окончанию этого сезона Евровидения, объяснив это желанием дать и себе самому и проекту Eesti Laul возможность для продвижения вперед.
"Мы никогда не можем оставаться в развитии вечно, поэтому я уверен, что Eesti Laul 11, который пройдет в следующем году, будет уже организован не мною. Пришло время двигаться вперед, и передать эту возможность кому-то другому. Важно лишь любить Евровидение и обсуждать его песни. Опыт работы перед телекамерами не является обязательным, но будет считаться плюсом.

DR отказывается от традиции посткардов на DMGP, зрители смогут ощутить нечто новое.

"Каждый год у нас есть желание сделать шоу еще лучше. В этом году мы внесем большие изменения, впервые в истории, мы откажемся от посткардов - и вместо этого будем брать интервью у участников сразу после завершения их выступления. Мы постараемся приблизить зрителей к участникам, чтобы они почувствовали эмоции участников и узнали, что они сами думают о собственном выступлении", объясняет менеджер DR Ян Лагерманд Лундме
В то время, как презентация 10 конкурсантов изменится, процедура голосования останется такой же, как и в прошлом году. После того, как участники завершат выступления, начнется голосование зрителей по СМС и голосование жюри, которое вновь будет состоять из пяти поклонников Евровидения. Голосовать они будут по схеме 50-50. После суммирования результатов, три лучшие песни выйдут в суперфинал, и голосование повторится вновь.
"Мы очень довольны тем, что в прошлом году мы представили жюри из фанатов Евровидения, мы смогли узнать их взгляд на конкурсные песни. У фанатов Евровидения есть огромный опыт и знания всех шоу, они знают, что сработает, и что не сработает, потому их мнение очень важно для выбора песни, которая может принести Дании хороший результат", говорит Лундме.
"Важно, чтобы мы добились хорошего результата на международном Евровидении, для поддержания интереса к DMGP среди жителей Дании. Если мы будем отправлять песни, которые не будут добиваться результатов, то интерес у нас дома будет падать. И это будет плохо, потому что мы уверены в том, что Dansk Melodi Grand Prix - шоу, способное объединить зрителей"
В прошлом году Аня смогла вывести Данию в финал впервые за 3 года, такой была цель телевещателя. В этом году задача стоит более серьезная - попадание в десятку сильнейших. И это абсолютно возможно с нынешними финалистами отбора, считает Лундме. "Я очень доволен теми десятью песнями, что вышли в финал - и считаю, что какая из них бы ни победила дома, они все могут претендовать на десятку на международном уровне", говорит он.
Кто будет состязаться в Dansk Melodi Grand Prix в этом году будет объявлено завтра на специальной пресс-конференции.

Телеканал RTE намеревается отправить на Евровидение 2018 дуэт сестер-двойняшек Heathers - Луизу и Элли МакНамара, пишет сегодня The Irish Sun. Однако, исполнительницы пока не ответили согласием на это предложение. Они работают в разных странах и пишут новый альбом.
Дуэт Heathers считается ирландским ответом шведскому фолк-дуэту First Aid Kit. По мнению боссов RTE, именно они лучше всех подойдут для участия в Евровидении.
На вопрос о том, готовы ли они выступить на конкурсе Луиза ответила: "Может быть. Пока я не скажу ни да, ни нет. Это возможно - но для нас важнее сконцентрироваться на новом альбоме".
Тем не менее, участие в Евровидении их не отталкивает. Луиза добавляет: "Я думаю, что конкурс сильно изменился за прошлые пару лет. Сейчас в нем участвует много достойных исполнителей. Я не думаю, что это предложение, которое можно было бы отвергнуть без рассмотрения".
Вторая сестра Элли постоянно проживает в Нью-Йорке, а Луиза совмещает свою музыкальную карьеру с работой лектором в институте BIMM в Дублине. "Возможно создавать музыку удаленно, даже если мы разделены континентами".
Группа Heathers существует уже около десятилетия. Их хиты Remember When и Forget Me Knots (It’s Alright Not To Feel OK) становились гимнами крупных социальных и рекламных кампаний.
Тем временем, известно, что телеканал рассматривает 10 потенциальных песен для конкурса. Свои оценки композициям опубликовал член международного жюри, израильский продюсер Алон Амир. Он посчитал, что только 2 из 10 песен имеют шансы на выход в финал, но и там не займут выше 10го места. Также в состав жюри входит теле и радиоведущий Оуэн МакДермотт. В своей оценке он также отметил 2 из участвующих песен, назвав их сильными заявками и кандидатами на успех, добавив, что 6 песен показались ему слишком похожи друг на друга.

Группа Dilemma планирует выступить на национальном отборе Украины с композицией "На паті".
Хотя официальная презентация студийной версии данной песни и клипа на нее прошла в ноябре, поклонники Евровидения сразу подметили, что данная песня нарушает правила национального отбора по дате обнародования: Концертная премьера композиции прошла 23 августа в рамках выступления на конкурсе "Miss XXL" в ночном клубе Malevich., а в интернете запись с него была размещена 28 августа.
Согласно правилам национального отбора СТБ: "Песня должна быть оригинальной (создана без использования каких других произведений), созданной без нарушения прав третьих лиц), не быть публично обнародованной полностью или частично (в том числе текст отдельно от музыки или наоборот) и не быть использована никоим образом в коммерческих целях до 1 сентября 2017 года".
Телеканал СТБ пока не прокомментировал данный вопрос.

C 2018 года конкурсы Евровидение будут использовать новую систему аккредитаций - Accredion, разработанную компанией Ситце Баккера Scrn. В 2008 год компании Баккера впервые было поручено заняться онлайн-аккредитацией к крупнейшему музыкальному конкурсу. На тот момент существовали Excel - и системы стоимостью в миллионы евро, созданные крупнейшими IT компаниями. Решения лежащие посередине не подходили под поставленные задачи. Потому, с нуля была создана собственная система аккредитаций, за эти годы ставшая фундаментальной частью организации конкурса.
В 2017 году было принято решение о полной переработке платформы, с учетом проблем и доработок, с которыми приходилось сталкиваться ранее. Таким образом, в 2018 году была рождена система Accredion - которая не будет являться эксклюзивной для Европейского Вещательного Союза, а предложена для коммерческого использования организаторам других крупнейших мероприятий в мире.
Тем не менее, Евровидение останется крупнейшим событием, которое будет использовать систему Accredion. Посредством нее будут выданы около 10 тысяч аккредитаций в год - организаторам, волонтерам, делегациям, прессе и фанатам.
Каждая заявка на аккредитацию рассматривается минимум дважды - главой делегации соответствующей страны (в случае членов делегаций, прессы и фанатов) или главой департамента (в случае рабочих) - и организатором конкурса. Это тщательный процесс, и аккредитационный модуль Accredion нацелен на то, чтобы предотвратить все возможные ошибки.
Помимо основной системы, относящейся только к аккредитациям, ЕВС также будет использовать расширенный вариант платформы - Accredion PLUS. Это своего рода интранет, который включает в себя файлообменник, новостную рассылку, и формы для сбора данных. Используя последние, организаторы смогут собирать необходимые данные от всех участников конкурса, чтобы создать одно из наиболее технически сложных шоу в мире. От сбора биографий артистов, до требований к питанию, от сбора студийных записей, до пожеланий команде организаторов - все это можно будет сделать при помощи Accredion PLUS. Евровидение 2018 будет первым в истории использованием платформы Accredion. "Все вовлеченные в создание системы с нетерпением ждут этого момента. Мы полагаемся на декаду опыта, заработанного с предшественником этой системы. Потому, мы уверены, что запуск пройдет гладко. Но, как и каждый год, мы готовы к новым требованиям и задачам, которые помогут сделать Accredion еще лучше", говорит глава агентства Scrn, создателя Accredion, Ситце Баккер.
Создатели системы также благодарят менеджера по аккредитациям ЕВС Андреаса Шмица за поддержку и неоценимый вклад в развитие и тестирование системы Accredion.

Выпущена новая версия конкурсной песни Айдана Кассара "Dai Laga" для мальтийского национального отбора. Напомним, ранее сообщалось, что первоначальная версия была основана на платном сэмпле, находившемся в публичном доступе с августа 2016 года. На Мальте применяется правило 1 ноября - запрещающее любое обнародование треков до этой даты. Это привело к необходимости переработки музыкальной части композиции.

В воскресенье в телеэфир выйдет первый полуфинал румынского национального отбора. Шоу пройдет в муниципальном театре "Maior Gheorghe Pastia" города Фокшани.

RTVE.es покажет специальный онлайн-эфир, посвященный распределению песен Евровидения пяти финалистам Operaсion Triunfo 2017. Прямой эфир начнется во вторник в 17:30 Москвы (15:30 CET).
Программа начнется с интервью уже выбывших участников - артиста, который покинет шоу в понедельник, а также Нереи, Роя и Сепеды.
Оглашение песен начнется в 18:00 Москвы. Педагоги раздадут песни пяти финалистам и познакомят их с композиторами, с которыми они будут работать вместе на протяжении недели, чтобы сделать собственные версии конкурсных песен.
После этого, певица Zaraha, эксперты в OT и Евровидении - журналисты Juanma Fernández (Bluper) и Alfredo Murillo (Buzzfeed Spain ) проанализируют пять песен и выскажут мнение о том, какая из них лучше всего представит страну на Евровидении.
В обсуждении можно участвовать используя в социальных сетях хештег #OTvisión . Программа будет транслироваться на сайте канала, Facebook страницах OT и Евровидения Испании и Youtube канале RTVE.

В четверг, 25 января, состоится заключительная встреча представителей греческого телеканала ERT с тремя лейблами, чьи песни были отобраны в финал отбора. Именно на этой встрече должны быть достигнуты окончательные договоренности по формату проведения греческого национального финала и его дате.
Финал отбора пройдет в феврале в студии телеканала в Катенаки, там же, где проходили съемки прошлогоднего отбора. Планируется, что результат финала будет определен 100% телеголосованием. В финальном шоу, скорее всего, будет разрешен записанный бэк-вокал, что вызывало большие споры среди потенциальных участников.

Сегодня - последний день, предоставленный БТРК для подписания договора об участии в финале национального отбора Беларуси на Евровидение 2018. Подписания проходят на фоне полного отсутствия какого-либо официального решения об очевидном нарушении со стороны одного из финалистов проекта - Alekseev.
Телекомпания продолжает анализировать собственные правила - формулировки в которых не менялись уже на протяжении десятка лет, и в аналогичных случаях в свое время приводили к дисквалификации песен и Дмитрия Колдуна, и Анжелики Агурбаш, и Александра Солодухи, и ряда других белорусских артистов.
Как уже известно, от участия в проекте отказалась одна из финалисток - Софья Лапина. Сегодня мы можем узнать, последуют ли за ней другие его участники, а пока же ESCKAZ публикует поступившее ему официальное заявление от менеджмента Софьи:
"Софья Лапина отказывается от подписания Договора с БТРК об участии в финале "Национального отбора на конкурс Евровидение 2018" от Республики Беларусь.
Причинами отказа не являются боязнь конкуренции или неуверенность в победе. Безусловно, здоровая, сильная конкуренция, как и приобретаемый в подобных мероприятиях бесценный опыт – источник прогресса для любого артиста. Причина отказа – двойные стандарты, применяемые к конкурсантам, выраженные в отсутствии должной и незамедлительной реакции со стороны БТРК на явные нарушения "Положения об участии" в заявке артиста Никиты Алексеева. Умышленное затягивание сроков и замалчивание хода расследования, в сочетании с "размытой" формулировкой официальной позиции со стороны БТРК, заставляют нас усомниться в чистоте и открытости "Национального отбора".
В сложившейся неоднозначной ситуации, Софья Лапина, как и её менеджмент, не считают возможным продолжать участие в "Национальном отборе".
Хотим горячо поблагодарить за поддержку всех причастных к участию в отборе – многочисленных поклонников Софьи, её друзей, родственников и просто неравнодушных людей. Спасибо Вам всем!

Три песни были отобраны в качестве композиций, которые продолжают бороться за право представить Болгарию на конкурсе Евровидение 2018. Это произошло по итогам голосования фокус-групп, которое проводилось в последние две недели. Из 13 проектов лишь 3 достигли порога в 7 баллов по средней отметке во всех фокус-группах.
Теперь эти результаты будут обсуждаться с соответствующими продюсерами. Окончательный выбор будет обусловлен многочисленными факторами, главный из которых - возможность для дальнейшего развития каждого проекта и сценической концепции номера.
Голосование показало полный спектр предложений по отношению их качества. Все песни были разделены на 5 категорий (Awful, Below Average, Average, Excellent, Amazing), и результаты показывают, что проекты попали в каждую из категорий. Топ 3 смог выдержать крайне враждебный подход, поскольку в особенности профессиональному жюри было предложено проявить осмотрительность с выставлением оценок.
Шкала личного восприятия каждого из участников голосования определяется следующим образом: Потрясающе (10) следует рассматривать как песню с большими шансами выиграть конкурс;
Отлично (7,8,9) - это песня, которая может войти в ТОП-5 и имеет хороший шанс выиграть;
Средний (4,5,6) - это песня, которая, как ожидается, претендует на участие в Гранд-финале, но закончит за пределами TOP 10;
Ниже среднего (1,2,3) - это песня, которая имеет некоторые шансы претендовать на участие в Гранд-финале, но, скорее всего, не попадет в него;
Ужасный (0) - это песня, которую нельзя рассматривать ни при каких условиях;
Средняя оценка всех 13 проектов составляет 4,84, а три лучших проекта были оценены выше 7,50 каждый.
Несмотря на то, что это инструмент для оценки песни, система имеет некоторые важные ограничения. Во-первых, самое важное, заключается в том, что нет достаточных данных для того, чтобы воспроизвести личное восприятие каждого из членов жюри на фоне конкретных конкурсных песен этого года. Определение соответствующих категорий зависит от здравого смысла и прошлого опыта, но ведь то, может ли песня победить или выйти в финал всегда зависит от контекста, окружения в которое она будет помещена. Другими словами, до тех пор, пока у нас не будет дополнительной информации о других песнях, вышеупомянутые определения более или менее сделаны в пустоте и не должны восприниматься как абсолютная мера.
Другое ограничение заключается в том, что участники голосования оценивают текущее состояние проектов, оставляя анализ всей картины целиком в руках телекомпании.

В эти дни в Вене проходят репетиции перед отборочным туром Сан-Марино 1in360.11 финалистов отбора работают в венской студии Echo Pilot над песнями, которые они будут исполнять во время национального отбора. Арт-директором шоу является Кристоф Штрауб, отец певицы Зои.
Баллады, рэгги, ар-н-би - среди тех стилей, которые можно будет услышать в эфирах SMTV Сан-Марино в январе и феврале. Вещатель также отмечает, что сан-маринец рэппер Ирол выступит в отборе в составе дуэта.

Песня, которая представит Кипр на Евровидении 2018, уже была отобрана. После неудачной попытки телевизионного отбора, национальная делегация решила заняться внутренним подбором исполнительницы под композицию, написанную Алексом Папаконстантину.
По информации ОГАЕ Греции, конкурсная песня будет быстротемповой, с танцевальными и этническими ритмами, оркестровой аранжировкой, а ее название имеет отношение к чему-то жаркому.
По неофициальной информации за последние дни представители вещателя провели переговоры с Еленой Папаризу, Тамтой, Элени Фурейрой и рядом других греческих исполнительниц, но пока не получили согласия.

TVE и Gestmusic рассмотрели более 200 песен, предложенных как для солистов, так и дуэтов. Отбор песен был закрыт еще до того, как станут известны имена всех финалистов испанской 'Operación Triunfo 2017'.
Вещатель и продюсеры шоу начали поиск профессиональных заявок в декабре. Они сделали это через общества профессиональных авторов, хотя были сделаны и прямые контакты с рядом композиторов, а также были независимые авторы, которые сами предложили свои песни организаторам.
Все песни должны были соблюдать требования Евровидения - быть оригинальными и ранее не изданными, а также иметь текст песни на испанском языке.
Срок приема заявок завершался в первой половине января, но в итоге он был продлен еще на несколько дней, чтобы получить последние доработанные предложения. Всего было получено около 200 песен.
После этого началась стадия прослушивания, чтобы выбрать лучшие композиции и распределить их по конкурсантам. Авторы песен не имели возможность решать, кто исполнит их композиции, но при подаче заявки они могли указать свои предпочтения, а также уточнить, предназначена ли песня для сольного исполнения, дуэта или еще какой-либо комбинации.
Таким образом, велика вероятность того, что на Евро-отборе каждый участник исполнит более чем одну песню - будут как сольные номера, так и дуэты, а возможно даже и групповые номера. Не исключается, что как в случае с Розой Лопес, другие финалисты шоу поедут в Лиссабон в качестве бэк-вокалистов.
Какие песни были выбраны для участия в Евро-финале, конкурсанты и публика узнают во вторник, 23 января. Обычное распределение песен на этот раз будет включать визит в Академию их авторов, задачей которых будет рассказать о посылах своих композиций кандидатам на участие в конкурсе. Также вместе с авторами могут быть приняты решения о внесении изменений в песни, чтобы участники чувствовали себя с ними более комфортно.
Четыре из пяти Евро-финалистов шоу уже известны. Ими стали Амайя, Айтана, Альфред и Мириам, а пятый определится в борьбе между Агонеем и Аной Геррой.

По информации ESCKAZ БТРК склоняется к допуску песни Alekseev - Forever к национальному отбору, при этом, скорее всего настоит на замене песни уже в случае победы Алексеева на национальном туре.
План действий, возможно будет аналогичным году участия Дмитрия Колдуна. На роль автора новой конкурсной песни артиста может быть призван известный зарубежный композитор и продюсер. Не исключено, что им, как и в случае с Колдуном станет Филипп Киркоров, которому поможет его греческая команда.
Первым "отказником" от участия в национальном финале Беларуси становится Софья Лапина. Последуют ли за ней другие артисты - пока неизвестно.
"Ничего не изменится. На нарушение закрыты глаза, они будут закрываться и впредь. Дело даже не в честности борьбы, а в том, что проявились двойные стандарты, которые позволяют некоторым артистам совершенно наплевательски относиться к регламенту", заявил продюсер исполнительницы Сергей Ким. "Мы решили сняться с отборочного тура, я как себя уважающий артист не хочу быть декорацией на чужом празднике жизни", добавила Софья Лапина

По словам музыкального продюсера Руслана Квинты, главное отличие Нацотбора-2018 в том, что в составе полуфиналистов парней больше, чем девушек, а все песни, которые прозвучат в прямых эфирах - авторские.
- За время, пока шел первый этап отбора, мы получили более 1000 заявок. Это говорит о том, как сильно развивается наша музыкальная индустрия. Я горд тем, что сегодня украинские песни приобретают совершенно новое лицо - современное, модное. И именно на качественную песню мы делали ставку. В ней должна быть и любовь к музыке, и смелое решение, и лицо артиста. Не важно - известный он или нет. Мы провели колоссальную работу, чтобы взять самых-самых, и я с лёгкостью могу сказать, что в прямых эфирах зритель услышит очень качественную музыку и увидит крепких (не побоюсь этого слова) артистов. Лично я верю в каждого из них. Более того, все песни написаны самими участниками, нет ни одной "спецпокупки" - это меня, как музыкального продюсера, очень радует
В прямых эфирах Нацотбора будет представлено около 16 музыкальных жанров, среди которых indi pop, authentic, reggie, house, experiment pop, folks и другие.
"Мне максимально хотелось разнообразить состав участников по жанрам и стилям, чтобы показать вкусы ребят и их творческую составляющую, - объясняет выбор Руслан Квинта. – Я был доступен для всех, кто хотел со мною встречаться, обсуждать репертуар и его поиск. А всех подавших анкеты "прошлогодников" просматривал как под микроскопом; к ним у меня были особые требования, о чем я предупреждал сразу – это репертуар и новый творческий вектор. И могу сказать, что некоторые меня приятно удивили, порадовали серьезным подходом и тем, что услышали все рекомендации и качественно подготовились"
19 января будет проведена жеребьевка, по результатам которой определится порядок выступлений артистов в полуфиналах Нацотбора. Напомним, что в Нацотборе-2018 запланировано два полуфинала (10 и 17 февраля), в каждом из которых выступят по 9 исполнителей. В финал, который состоится 24 февраля, пройдут 6 участников. Победитель Нацотбора представит Украину на 63-м песенном конкурсе "Евровидение" в Лиссабоне (Португалия) с той же песней, с которой он участвовал в отборе.
Телевизионная съемка Национального отбора пройдет в столичном Дворце культуры КПИ по адресу: пр-т Победы, 37. Билеты уже в продаже, приобрести их можно на сайте СТБ по ссылке. Прямые эфиры Национального отбора будут транслироваться одновременно на телеканалах СТБ и UA:ПЕРШИЙ.

В этом году на шведском Мелодифестивалене будет использована самая большая сцена в истории: • В самом широком месте ее ширина составляет 30 метров. Высота сцены также является рекордной.
• Размеры центральной части сцены - 14 на 14 метров.
• Будут использованы 68 LED экранов с разрешением в 10-миллиметров
• LED колонны будут начинаться с задней части сцены на высоте в 9 метров и расширяться вниз, заканчиваясь на полу зала среди аудитории
• Колонны - 1 кв.метро в основании, и расположены с промежутком в 1 метр.
• В каждую колонну интегрировано освещение• Позади сцены расположены три LED стены с разрешением в 4 миллиметра
• Перед сценой расположены встроенные ветродуи и локации для пиротехники.
• Подиумы в форме подковы длиной примерно в 20 метров.
• Гринрум перенесен и в этом году расположится на другой стороне арены, на полу зала посреди аудитории.
"Колонный имеют разрешение в 10 мм между пикселями, но экраны на задней стене - 4 мм. Я думаю, что это наивысшее разрешение, что у нас когда-либо было. По сравнению с конкурсами Евровидения прошлых лет, в большинстве случаев, оно тоже будет выше", говорит Виктор Браттстрем, дизайнер сцены
Телевидение Молдовы объявило список из 28 артистов и песен, которые примут участие в национальном отборе O Melodie Pentru Europa 2018. Представитель Молдовы на Евровидение 2018 будет выбран посредством трехступенчатого отбора, состоящим из живого прослушивания претендентов, полуфинала, назначенного на 22 февраля, и финала 24 февраля.

"В связи с появлением в открытом доступе неофициальной информации, однозначно характеризующую позицию БТРК по поводу ряда нарушений, допущенных при подаче заявки на участие в национальном отборе на конкурс "Евровидение 2018" от Республики Беларусь, артистом Никитой Алексеевым и/или его представителями: мы - финалисты вышеуказанного отбора, принимаем следующее заявление:
- Мы не подпишем договора на участие в финальной части национального отбора до момента принятия БТРК честного и справедливого решения -дисквалификации артиста Никиты Алексеева.
- Мы ставим под сомнение квалификацию и деловую репутацию артиста Никиты Алексеева и его менеджмента.
- Мы не считаем возможным участие в фарсе, на который будет похож финал национального отбора в случае появления в нем артиста Алексеева. Наше участие, безусловно, нанесёт нам репутационный вред, оскорбит нашу честь и человеческое достоинство.
- Призываем всех неравнодушных коллег в области шоу-бизнеса обратить внимание на эту вопиющую ситуацию и ПУБЛИЧНО дать свои авторитетные оценки происходящему.
Нарушения допущенные при подачи заявки Никитой Алексеевым и/или его представителями:
- Представленная в заявке композиция Forever является переведенной на английский язык, незначительно переаранжированной и укороченной версией песни "Навсегда", о чем есть независимые экспертные заключения. Первое публичное исполнение данной композиции состоялось в мае 2017 года в рамках коммерческого гастрольного тура, что прямо нарушает пункты текущего Положения о национальном отборе. Песня была исполнена многократно в рамках вышекуазанного гастрольного тура, что дало артисту Алексееву неоспоримое преимущество не только в рамках национального отбора, но и в контексте основного конкурса "Евровидение 2018".
- Представленная композиция имеет продолжительность 3 минуты 06 секунды, что прямо нарушает ограничения на продолжительность звучания. Зачастую, несколько лишних секунд не позволяют использовать ту или иную композицию, по причине того, что укоротить песню без потери структуры аранжировки не удаётся.
- Артистом Алексеевым были подписаны гарантии того, что песня "Forever" полностью соответствует критериям национального отбора, что является прямым введением оргкомитета отбора в заблуждение.
Мы обязуемся присутствовать лично или прислать своих представителей на официальную жеребьевку 16 января 2016 года, что не будет являться согласием на подписание договора с БТРК".
По информации издания, данное заявление не подписали Adagio, "Радиоволна", Александра Ткач (так как является несовершеннолетней) и Shuma.

В интервью Télé-Loisirs продюсер Мелодифестивалена Кристер Бьоркман получил статус "иконы" Евровидения - именно так его решили назвать журналисты издания.
Бьоркман рассказал о своей работе в составе французского жюри. "Меня спросили, интересен ли мне этот проект. Вы знаете, я жил во Франции несколько лет в конце 80х, начале 90х. Я люблю вашу страну и мне всегда нравились песни, представлявшие Францию на Евровидение. С самого детства. Моя любимая - Мария Мириам. В последние годы меня очень сильно расстраивали результаты Франции на конкурсе. Для меня было больно, что в вашей стране нет достойной команды. Потому что должны быть люди, четко понимающие отборочный процесс. Я рад, что это происходит сейчас. И тому, что я стал частью этого".
Бьоркман ответил на обвинения в том, что иностранное жюри чаще всего голосует выбирая слабых конкурентов для своей страны. "У нас подобный вопрос тоже возникал на Мелодифестивалене. Но я думаю, что все это чушь. Для людей присутствие в подобном жюри большая честь, и для меня в том числе. Я гарантирую, что мы голосуем за действительно лучшие песни. Но сложно предугадать, как потом наш фаворит выступит на Евровидении, и сможет ли он одержать победу и там".
Еще одно обвинение было в том, что подбор артистов на шоу часто происходит из очень узкого круга исполнителей, близких продюсерам. Бьоркман отвечает: "Да, нас в первые годы тоже обвиняли в этом. Но, когда формат развился, люди стали доверять нам. Всему свое время". По словам шлягергенерала - каждый год нужно ставить задачу войти в Топ 10. "Рецепта победы на конкурсе нет. Это алхимия - нужна точная смесь уникальной песни, артиста и постановки. Такой бриллиант встречается очень редко. Потому цель надо ставить - войти в десятку. И именно эта цель должна быть у Франции".
Одновременно с этим, Бьоркман повторяет, что хочет видеть как минимум еще одну победу Швеции до 2021 года, когда он уйдет в отставку. "Это позволит нам сравниться по количеству побед с Ирландией. Это - моя цель."

Во Франции стартовали эфиры отборочного шоу Destination Eurovision. В первом полуфинале в финальную часть шоу вышли 4 исполнителя:

Итоги полуфиналов определяют жюри из шести членов: три члена фракофонного жюри Амир, Изабель Бюле и Кристоф Виллем, а также главы делегаций Беларуси Ольга Саламаха, Италии Никола Калиджиоре и продюсер Мелодифестивалена Кристер Бьоркман.

Распределение стран по полуфиналам состоится в Лиссабоне 29 января в 13:00 CET (15:00 мск). В ходе церемонии пройдет передача ключа от конкурса мэром Киева Виталием Кличко мэру Лиссабону Фернандо Медина. Церемонию проведут Сильвия Альберто и Филомена Каутела, которые также являются ведущими Евровидения 2018.
По решению ЕВС и RTP в первом полуфинале выступят 19 стран, во втором - 18.
Традиционно в первой части жеребьевки определят полуфиналы в которых будут голосовать страны "Большой пятерки" и страна-хозяйка. Во второй: 37 стран будут распределены по полуфиналам, а также по конкретным половинам. Окончательный порядок выступлений будет определен продюсерами шоу после презентации всех участвующих песен.
Состав корзин был определен компанией Digame, которая занимается телеголосованием на конкурсе.

Два конкурсанта испанского шоу Operación Triunfo Альфред и Амайя заявили о том, что хотели бы отправиться на Евровидение дуэтом. Они предлагают исполнить песню с джазовыми ритмами, в которой Амайя бы играла за фортепиано, а Альфред бы играл на тромбоне.

Начинается авторский лагерь для немецкого отбора на Евровидение "Unser Lied für Lissabon".
Со среды, 10 января, 15 немецких и международных авторов, композиторов и продюсеров принимают участие в трехдневном авторском лагере в Берлине работая с Xavier Darcy, Ivy Quainoo, Ryk, Michael Schulte, Natia Todua и группой voXXclub. Их цель - написать несколько песен для каждого из кандидатов. Основываясь на данном материале, будет решено кто из артистов исполнит какую песню на национальном отборе. Артисты также могут предлагать свои собственные варианты.
В составе участников лагеря: Аксель Энстрем, принимавший участие в Евровидении от Финляндии под именем Paradise Oskar, датчанин Томас Стенгорд, написавший песню-победительницу 2013 "Only Teardrops", автор песни "Rise Like A Phoenix" Али Зуковски,
а также американец Billy Austin, швейцарец Ricardo "Richy" Bettiol, канадец Martin Gallop, голландка Loren Nine Geerts, немцы Alex Freund, Nisse Ingwersen, Nina Müller, Jaro Omar, Josh & Janik - Quarterhead, Rainer Rütsch, Joe Walter.
Томас Шрайбер, координатор развлекательного вещания ARD: "Здорово, это смесь успешных и опытных исполнитель с очень талантливой молодежью. Я ценю разнообразие в их взглядах и стилях, что поможет нам подобрать песню для каждого из наших кандидатов. Спасибо Ларсу Ингверсену и музыкальным издателям, которые организовали этот лагерь. Изначально - Евровидение - это конкурс композиторов, и мы возвращаемся к этому"

Поклонники Евровидения выяснили, что русская версия конкурсной песни Никиты Алексеева для национального отбора Беларуси "Навсегда" нарушает пункт 9 правил отбора:
"В Проекте может участвовать песня (музыка и (или) текст), которая не была коммерчески реализована, а также исполнена публично до 1 сентября 2017 г.: распространена через сеть Интернет, а также на каких-либо носителях (аудиокассеты, компакт-диски, мини-диски и подобное) посредством продажи или иным способом, передана в радио- или телевизионный эфир".
Таким образом, композиция "Навсегда" музыка которой была публично исполнена до 1 сентября (в частности на концертах в Киеве (на видео ниже с 17.30) и Ставрополе (на втором видео в приложенном посте) в мае) однозначно нарушает данное правило.
Следует отметить, что правила белорусского национального отбора сформулированы более жестко, чем правила международного Евровидения. Однако, для участия в национальном отборе необходимо отталкиваться прежде всего от текста его правил.
На данный момент представители БТРК никак не прокомментировали данное нарушение.
Продюсер исполнителя Alekseev Олег Боднарчук сделал следующее заявление:
"Песня "Forever", представленная ALEKSEEV на отборочный тур Евровидения от Беларуси будет исполнена впервые 11 января в Минске перед жюри конкурса. Отрывок песни "Навсегда", исполняемый Никитой ранее на концертах в Киеве и Ставрополе с абсолютно другим текстом и с измененной мелодией и песня "Forever" являются разными произведениями, о чем свидетельствуют соответствующие договора между артистом и авторами: песня "Forever" муз. К.Павлов, М.Кошевой, сл. Е.Матюшенко, песня "Навсегда" сл. и муз. К.Павлов"

Конкурсные песни Саары Аалто будут выпущены в феврале. Первая из них будет представлена 9го февраля.
Всего в национальном отборе UMK, который пройдет 3го марта в Espoo Metro Arena будут представлены 3 песни. Все они будут представлены в форме видеоклипов - соответственно 9, 16 и 23 февраля. Треки будут размещены на сайте UMK в полночь по финскому времени.
- Все три песни очень крутые, и любая из них может стать победителем. У них сильные посылы и запоминающиеся мелодии. Мне кажется, что каждый сможет выбрать для себя фаворита, и шоу в марте будет очень непростым соревнованием, говорит Аалто
Названия песен и имена авторов композиций будут объявлены только в дни их презентации. Всего же Саара рассматривала для конкурса 22 песни. В последние месяцы, помимо прочих, она работала вместе со шведскими композиторами Линнеей Деб и Томасом Г:соном, а также бывшими финскими участниками конкурса Акселем Энстремом и Norma John.
Хореографию каждого номера поставит известный британский постановщик Брайн Фридман, работающий с шоу X Factor.

Eurovision Romania: объявлены пять городов в которых пройдут полуфиналы национального румынского отбора на Евровидение 2018: Фокшани, Тимишоара, Крайова, Турда и Сигишоара.
Впервые в истории национального отбора Румынии, его полуфиналы пройдут в пяти различных городах. Национальный отбор будет совмещен с празднованиями 100-летия независимости страны. Даты проведения полуфиналов: 21 января (Фокшани), 28 января (Тимишоара), 4 февраля (Крайова), 11 февраля (Турда) и 18 февраля (Сигишоара).
Организаторы также объявили распределение на полуфиналы. В Фокшани выступят Lina ("A Love Worth Falling For"), Johnny Bădulescu ("Devoted"), Hellen ("From Underneath"), Eduard Santha ("Mesom Romales"), Echoes ("Mirror"), Alex Florea ("Nobody Told Me It Would Hurt"), Waleska ("Reborn"), Liviu Anghel ("Rise Up"), CornEL ("Take Me Away"), Tom Hartis ("Teardrop Rain"), Elena Turcu ("The Perfect Fall") и Alexia & Matei ("Walking On Water").
